A-Tier Amateur only PDGA sanctioned tournament.

March 29th & 30th.

Three 18 hole rounds at Channahon Community Park, and Round Barn Farm DGC in Manhattan, IL over the course of two days. See below for course schedules.

Channahon Community Park is one of the most picturesque courses in the J-Town area. Thanks to the Sodfather, Frank Grimes, this course always looks great. Cement tee pads, and benches at many of the holes, it's a great place to play. Hole 4 has a raised green, as does hole 11. Hole 9 and 14 will test your distance. The course has an even mix of lefty and righty shots. Definitely a must play if you are in the area.

Round Barn Farm is one of the newest courses in the area. With two sets of championship level baskets on each hole, it has a lot of variety of shots. There are also 3 water holes on the course, giving it that pucker factor. Playing thru mature trees, it is also a scenic course to play. RBF is a great addition to the J-town area.

I am working hard to get sponsors so I can make this the best event possible for the players. I'll list the players pack as it stands right now, but it may change (for the better) as more sponsors come on board.

Players Pack:

Innova Disc
Latitude/Westside Disc
Local Disc Golf Calendar
Long Sleeve Dry Fit T-shirt
Commemorative Poster
Players Guide

So, currently, that's a value of approx. $69 in your $25 players pack! Both discs in the players pack are to be determined as we get closer to the tournament and see what each manufacturer has available.

Registration fee is $50 cash (at the shop) or $52 online. Pre-registration is mandatory. We will not be taking walk ups for this tournament. Also, since it's an A-tier, PDGA membership is a requirement. Pre-register at: http://www.acesandchains.com/node/21

Information about check in times, players meeting(s), and tee times will be available as we get closer to the tournament dates.

Tentative division schedule:

Saturday (2 rounds):

Channahon Community Park:

All Advanced divisions
Intermediate

Round Barn Farm (2 rounds):

All women's divisions

All Jr. divisions

Sunday:

We have room for 144 players in this tournament, and I expect it to fill. Pre-registration is open as of today.

Thanks again to everyone in the disc golf community for your continued support! I couldn't do it without you.

Final 9 - First Flight

Final 9 for the top four advanced players:

I have play tested a 9 hole safari setup at RBF for the final 9. It's really going to test each players skill level, and could easily result in the top four places changing during the last 9 holes. Only the top 4 Advanced players will play it, and spectators are encouraged. I plan to have a portable leaderboard for the top 4 so spectators can easily see the scoring changes from hole to hole.

New Sponsor!

I'm very happy to add The Hollywood Casino and Hotel to our list of sponsors.

Hotel: The Hollywood Hotel has generously offered a discount for your stay during the tournament of $89 per night. Just mention the booking code "FLIGHT" at the time of booking to get the discounted rate. This will also help us track guests brought into The Hollywood Hotel by the tournament and it's advertising. Call 1-888-436-7737 to book your room(s). They are conveniently located minutes away from the Channahon Course.

Epic Buffet: They have also offered a $6 discount that can be used at The Epic Buffet. Dig into a never-ending parade of flavors - Prime rib, seafood, pasta, salads, a sweet collection of delectable desserts, and plenty more. The Epic Buffet is a great place to eat and relax after your rounds. Details on the discount, and how to get it will be included in your players pack.

Hole Sponsor: The Hollywood Casino has also generously offered to provide two certificates good for one free dinner, and a one night stay at The Hollywood Hotel! These will be given away to two lucky players over the course of tournament weekend.

New Hole sponsor!

Huge shout out to Blaine Schepp for a generous hole sponsor donation! Blaine donated a $45 Aces and Chains gift card that will go as a CTP on one of the courses.

Another hole sponsor!

TownePlace Suites by Marriott: Donated a VIP Guest Pass good for one complimentary stay in a Studio King Suite. They are located just north of Route 6 off Houbolt (just north of the I-80 Expressway.)

Sounds awesome. I am going to look into making the trip to play. Just out of curiosity do you know roughly how much per night the Holiday Inn is? I would be coming from Columbus so would definitely need to stay overnight for friday and saturday night.

Sounds like a great tourney! Wish I wasn't in Korea so I could play! I'll hit up Hucking Aces about doing a sponsorship deal!

AndyJB - Sounds awesome. Thanks for the assist!

RippinDs - The Holiday Inn has a deal going for the tournament players - $89 a night.

We're starting to get some of the smaller divisions to sign up. Let's see if we can get at least 4 in each of the following groups:

Advanced Senior Grandmaster: 1 signed up so far
Advanced Master: 2 signed up so far
Novice Women: 1 signed up so far

All divisions are available. I think Legend is the only one I don't have on the list and I'll happily add it if someone wants to play in it.

Don't forget to sign up by Feb 14th to get the fly dry long sleeve t-shirt. Anyone signing up after Feb 14th will not receive a shirt (but you'll still get the rest of our great players pack!) Registration is available here: http://www.acesandchains.com/node/21

The list of players currently registered is available here: http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/16436

If there are at least 3 players signed up in a division, I'll have a trophy for you.

Flymart!

First Flight Flymart:

Friday, March 28th
5pm-8pm
Holiday Inn
411 S. Larkin - Joliet

Players are asked to come check in, and get their players packs at the flymart.

We'll have some great vendors, and a putting competition with some great prizes run by Miles Parkhill of Paragon, and sponsored by DGA.

Everyone is welcome to come out to the flymart, whether you are playing in the tournament or not. So come on out and get yourself some sweet plastic!

If you are interested in selling some of your collectables, or any disc golf related merch, registered players can get a table at flymart for $25. Vendors can get 2 tables for $50 and extra tables at $20 each. Contact Patrick at 815-993-3472 for details or to sign up.

For players coming in from out of town, player check in on Friday night isn't mandatory, but it is encouraged. It will help the tournament run smoother Saturday morning. I understand that some players will be coming in Saturday morning, and we will make that work. But for anyone who is in town on Friday night, we'd prefer to do check in, and hand out players packs at the Flymart.

For anyone who wants to register by mail, please mail a check or money order to:

Aces and Chains
1706 W. Jefferson St.
Joliet, IL 60435

Please include the following info:

Name
PDGA#
Division
Email address
PHONE # (probably the most important in case there are any issues, or more info needed.)
Shirt size (if registering before Feb 14th.)

It's $50 for the tournament ($30 for Jr.s, which is trophy only). Plus an additional $5 for CTP, and $3 for the Ace fund. Both CTP and Ace funds are optional.

Please note that we need to receive your registration on or before Feb 14th for you to get a shirt included in your players pack. Any registrations received after Feb 14th will not receive a shirt.

Absolutely. Just let me know your name and what division you want to be in and I'll push you up. And of course, anyone whose rating goes up beyond the cutoff will be automatically pushed up.

Another Hole Sponsor!

Nevin's Brewing Company was kind enough to give a $25 gift certificate to sponsor a hole. If you've never been to NBC, you need to check it out. Great food, and they make their own micro-brews. What's not to like?
