You need something overstable regardless of pin placement, because throwing it out over the road is generally the only way to get it around the trees to get at the basket. If your throw doesn't come back in bounds, you're throwing three from about sixty feet in front of the tee (or, in the case of yours truly after making the same mistake twice there before, throwing five)
