Is shoveling ice legal in order to get a better stance

I have been playing in these all winter and Ice is no longer an issue

I'll second this suggestion with a bigger picture. :hfive:

I would assume its just fine to beat the ice away, as long as its behind your lie. Just like you can move sticks and debris from behind your lie, I would think this falls in the same category.

It brings up an interesting point though... you are able to move debris and sticks and even use your foot to rub down a good throwing lane... however are you allowed to bring a shovel or hoe and level the ground (in 30 seconds) before every shot?

That might be a little intense if everyone started doing it. But before I make almost any throw that I have to run up on, I will brush away a clean lane to run up in. Only takes me about 5 sec to sweep my foot across. I'm thinking you could just stomp and break the ice then just sweep it away with your foot, mainly in the planting foot area.
