Great design, we had something similar back in the day. The original "Jet Pak" before prodiscus lol. I will say that you improved upon that greatly.

Not to go into too much detail, but my son and I met Chris at a tourney about a year ago and bought a bag from him. Thereafter we had a car wreck and my son lost his leg, Chris found out and refunded my money, let me keep the bag. Not only that but we didn't have money for a proper prosthetic or additional therapy so Chris had a proper prosthetic made for him and did all the therapy pro-bono (free). So yeah you can call me Tarzan.

Wow! Seriously? That is a great story, I'd back the guy too. Sounds like a helluva human being to me, something that this country seems to be lacking anymore. Dr Chris!

I have a Chally bag which is excellent, I'd take it over a Grip/Mahal anyday..

Thanks man, I'm glad you are enjoying the bag!! There are always people trying to discredit what someone does, made, or is about which is why it's difficult to be successful as a disc golf business. Plain and simple we make bags at physical flight to help give back to disc golf. Our profits go into running great tournaments in the south and giving players great payouts and memories. I started physical flight because of the people I have met over the 10 years I've played that pushed for better products and events. Disc golf is my hobby and when it becomes like work I will stop. Thread drift

that is fantastic, it original, not based off of anything. It blows my design out of the water, need to get back to work :evilsmiley:

I MAY have borrowed a couple ideas here and there...

I'm digging the Howitzer... I just wonder how the weight distribution would work. I feel like the weight might work like a giant lever on your back. Otherwise, the design is stellar. Lots of creative minds in here.

Well, I'm no physics professor. My idea was that the disc weight working down would help it stand better even on slight slopes. The lower front weight would offset the heavier and taller back frame. Full Nalgenes should distribute weight to the back. Also, with the dividers in the cradle, if you don't use all the disc space inside, you can stack them up closer to your back so it hopefully doesn't feel like it's pulling down on you. I like the front to back design because it centers the bulk of the weight, with big bags sometimes you can really get worn out with the side to side walking. But, ideally the backpack is relatively small and light so hopefully it wouldn't offer much fatigue.

Great design, we had something similar back in the day. The original "Jet Pak" before prodiscus lol. I will say that you improved upon that greatly.

The Jet Pack was in my mind, I will admit. I wanted something smaller and more compact. I'm not a guy that carries a ton of extra stuff, so I go utility over size.

The Duggy Bag

Now I'm not going to do what a lot of people might do and try and build a tank. I took what in my opinion is a very popular D.I.Y. bag (Cabela's) that I currently use and came up with a design that functions as that bag but is more disc golf friendly like the Grip. Since the Cabela's bag is strikingly similar to the Grip, I just kept my set-up the same, discs pulling from the top and flap sewn up to accommodate a pocket, compartment or what have you. I left this design as a one drink holder style bag. Only because that is something that can be modified later on. This bag is for the streamlined player who doesn't need to carry a closet with them. There are still enough pockets and compartments that can match the grip in my opinion. I think this blends the best of both worlds and molds up to be a better choice for Cabela and Grip lovers.

For comparison, please see this thread on the Cabela pack.

I apologize for no color scheme. No time.

Thank you for looking.

great design!!

Yeah, my drawing isn't NEARLY as pretty as the one above, here is the jest;

I'm a big fan of modular design, something that has a basic form, can be enhanced easily, and gives plenty of options. First off, the internal frame would be made of either aluminum tubing or bamboo (extremely high strength, very low weight). Most accessories (discs, water, etc) weigh more than ten pounds easily [20 discs plus towel plus water].

D-Rings and Velcro would allow additional options to be attached (extra pockets, rain flaps, heck even external speakers) that you could provide from your website. Key points are here;

* multiple anchoring points; velcro, d-rings, snap buttons
* Top cushion, a seat, is on hinge, opens up to container housing discs with divider(s)
* small middle compartment is another divider that can be snapped into place, or pulled out for more storage, exterior flap can be Velcro shut or snapped open.
* large bottom container can have an optional snap-in divider
* coated bottom with rubber "feet" for weather protection
* sides include standard pockets, pencil holders, two adjustable insulated drink holders
* putter pocket, easily reachable at the side for "in-range" putts
* plenty of open "real-estate" for patches, tags, etc. Person can add whatever they want.

Didn't show the harness, but it would have a D ring on each side, and a small pocket on at least one side.

So we designed a product for you but only get one of said product while you will potentially make a lot and make a bunch of money off it? Can we have a percent of sales of the designed bag instead of the bag?

...it does seem a bit cheap to give someone a free bag as compensation. Percentage sales seems a bit much, but perhaps a grand prize of cash and a bag sounds more reasonable.

hey guys...if you don't like it....don't participate!! i think it's an awesome idea....if you want to collect cash for your ideas...establish your own dg bag company!!

I built a bag from the Cabela's bag very similar to this. I have the discs on the bottom so I can have storage room for jackets in the winter. Solid ideas. As a graphic designer, I appreciate the details and professionalism of your designs. Couple observations, if I may.

1. I'd be nice if the pockets on the side were deep enough for a golden retriever. Many disc golfers carry one and I would prefer to not keep it in a pocket with my phone, etc.

2. What about having the roll cover attached to the top and roll downward? That way it could double as a rain cover and would naturally stay down rather then velcro it every time. Nothing worse than the sound of velcro when someone else is driving. Plus you could make the cover a bit longer than the opening so it could protect the putter from rain too.

3. Plastic handle could bother the users head, especially if looking up into a tree for a fellow golfers disc.

4. What about a semi-hidden zippered pocket between the putter and the main bag? If someone is using the other pocket as a putter pocket, it could be a excellent place for putters, phone, etc.

5. Towel attachment? On my bag, I added clips to the top (near the handle) so the towel drapes off the side.

There's some weird stuff going on here with kilgus and BillyR if you look at their post history. For instance, BillyR registered the same day that kilgus announced Physical Flight's first bag. They actually appear to be the same person.

glad i wasnt the only one

but i had to come back and give my 'Like' and '+1' for the Howitzer. Well done sir, well done

...and if you look at the posts by BillyR they are ALL related to bags. Typically he promotes Physical Flight and does not appear to like any other bags. Curious. Can an admin do an IP address check?

Does it matter? We're not talking about insurance fraud, here. I don't care if he's BillyR, Batman, or Barrack Hussein Obama. Let's leave the CIA computer checks for people who post Facebook statuses about 2nd Amendment rights.

What happens if BillyR wins the free bag?
