McFlicks!
I think McBeth would love the Flick. Its very overstable and glideless, yet steerable and will gain decent distance on hard rips. Its like a faster Firebird. One of the best overstable drivers I've ever seen.
It's not a true stable disc though. I've seen a couple of people that can throw 500' get turn out of them on a flat drive. It's just that most people can't get them up to speed so they feel really overstable.
Yeah. I definitely don't throw 500', but I've thrown a couple Flicks that had high speed turn. The thing with the Flick is, it lands hard all the time and gets beat up quickly. Z Flicks seem to lose stability somewhat quickly simply because they get beat up so fast.
I guess if McBeth did throw Flicks he'd probably be burning through quite a few of them because they wear out so fast.
I'll agree the Firebird has more consistent beef and is far less prone to flipping on hard rips than a Flick.
When I switch my bag over to exactly what PMcB throws
well the sig discs are purportedly:
Z Force
TI Undertaker
ESP Buzzz
Z Zone

I've only thrown a couple but there is definitely a huge difference between fresh-ish and beat in. Fresh they feel like they want to take my fingers with them as they go left. Beat in they hold straight way longer, I feel like 50-70' more distance for me and I'm nowhere near 500' power.
I really don't like the Flick. Feels terrible/shallow/sharp, way too OS for me, and then changes a lot.

PDGA radio interview: He says the undertaker is in the bag.
Part of his contract is his own line of discs. Not just his name, but actual molds. He did not provide any timelines on the podcast, but outside of 250K guaranteed a year, this is by far the savviest move Paul/DGI could of pulled off. I would imagine that Paul far eclipses royalty revenues any pro has seen from disc sales in the history of the sport. Paul has managed his brand very carefully over the years and it has allowed for moves like this. Not to discount how good he is - that helps too.
