[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Part VI)

I agree after doing a circuit and field work. I'll be sticking to entropy, envy, pyro, reactor for my slow os options.
Still figuring out where the actual distinction lies, but I really like having both this and the Entropy available. Tempo feels dead straight on FH inside of 200 and a little easier to find the FH turnover angle.

Separately, I'm loving the Vanish as a long straight option. Parked on 1 and 7 and pin high on 18 at East Roswell (white) this morning.

Is it just me or are current Teleports more OS than when they came out?

Maybe I'm just getting shittier and losing distance, but last field work session I was putting my Craves out further. And even a star roadrunner I found on the course.

I was thinking I might get more distance out of them than my Mayhem but it seems like a lost cause at this point.

Maybe I need to try one in the 160's, or try the Relativity instead. I had my longest ever throws with my old tester Teleports but can't seem to come close to the distance with these new runs.

Today was an official Plasma Wave Forehand Day. Played White Oak this morning and was reminded of how treacherous the (non)teepad footing is. All roots and rocks and things that make ankles sad. But I parked 1 (320 downhill after a blind crest) and had my best drive to date on 8, well down the treeline and nearly within sight of the basket. A few other solid shots, but those were memorable. Approaches were all over the map today, but that course is always a good workout.

I've had a Plasma Wave in my bag for almost a year now and it has become my Workhorse 11 speed hitting gaps in the woods and any open moderate headwind that's been a new option this summer. a few weeks ago I had four straight days of playing four different courses two rounds each the last three heavily wooded. the first one more open lost my plasma wave on that first day and I was missing it terribly on those wooded courses. but I got a good workout back and forth with a proton and neutron wave. the first thing I did after finishing my rounds that first day losing that disc, got on my phone and ordered one that arrived by the end of the week.
A pair of Plasma Zeniths came today. Positive first field session. It's like a high speed stable Wave which checks out with the flight numbers. I think it'll slide in where I'm trying to throw a Plasma Vanish which cotrary to the numbers is maybe even more stiff at spee and dumpy after. Neutron Vanish is still the big glidey guy at 11.
I remember your comment a while back about the Plasma Zenith. I've had one in my bag since early April, I found it to be a very good all round wind disc I'm LHBH and I found it to fly Center left Fairway. With a settled fade at the end compared to the neutron from last year that got destroyed by the wind it would dump out far right on me. I've been using the plasma back to back Fairways this year surrounded by water on three sides with wind and have yet to lose it.

Upon further review, either a bad case of phone fingers or I had a stroke trying to spell that Zenith post.

All this talk about Wave - okay. Still a weak arm beginner, so I don't have the speed for it, but I am liking my 148g Fission Wave more and more. Get about 200-225' with it, but still improving. It fades left pretty hard (RHBH) at the end, but mostly flies straight until then. I would pick up a second one, but at $20 each and unlikely to ever find a used one this light, it can wait for now. If it reaches favorite disc status, I will get 1-2 more. For now, I added two F2 Star Terns for $12 each, and spent big money on a gorgeous 151g Gold Orbit Diamond.

Stick with what you have.. if anything will add gyro distance at this point its that light wave. They are a really great glider. I'm kind of curious how these new plasma slot in, my old pfn plasmas are my least stable waves, except for those first se fission with the astronaut looking lady on em. My 2nd gen fission waves are more stable, I haven't tried any newer, they fell out of favour for consistency with the Rhythm. Less distance, but in the fairway is alright with me these days.

Honorable mention for the fission octane for crazy distance and a more stable complementary driver. I can haul on that anhyzer and get a good long turn with a fade.
Fun to see a SPIN in Simons bag, not that many pros that throws US slow stuff. . . i guess the sales for the Spin will go up this week
Yay, one of my long standing specialty discs. Be interesting to hear what the kick back is from the general public. I love em, stocked up on some OOP 167g protons 😄 but I feel like some of the new offerings do more. Glitch can work the same angles and hold height better, the spin falls out of the air faster when it's running out of gas. The Watt will do it powered up on an anny, crazy straight stall to an anhyzer finish... The uplink throws similar but goes way further... but the spin can be thrown nose down and flat and just holds the most beautiful long anhyzer turns with little effort or a straight hyzer flip to straight fading soft park.

There's one hole here downhill that frustrates me if im not packing my spin. Actually a few, I tried not taking it first day of the tourney this year and easily dropped 3 strokes the next day with it. It's annoying to need to pack a disc for a few holes...

I got a Spin coming with the order I placed the other day. Not because Simon bagged it - I don't care about that at all - but I eyed it several times before, wondered about it, and I was building a $75 order on Skyline.com, plus then found a 10% off, so a couple cheapish putters worked to round out my order. I am at that stage of try every putter ever made in attempt to find 1-2 favorites, so then I stock up the favorites, and have 30 putters sitting around not getting used. I feel certain that us DGers and our discs are like women with their shoes?!!! Get bored, or a bit down - order some discs for a pick me up?! Lol.

The first 12-speed featuring GYRO Overmold Technology is also the first Simon Line disc - designed by Simon to feature the best of what a 12-speed can offer. There's enough glide and turn to generate some truly massive flights, but it also has the right amount of fade to make these flights predictable and controllable. When it comes to hand-feel, the 22mm rim width represents the perfect middle ground between speed and maximum comfort, while the gentle dome makes the Time-Lapse feel amazing for backhand drives and adds some glide at the same time!

High power players will find the Time-Lapse to be a controllable max-distance crusher - allowing you to create Simon Lines of your own - while low power players will love the Time-Lapse as a controlled distance driver and potentially a wind fighter as well.

Considering the wait, the first 12-speed from MVP absolutely had to be perfect. Thanks to Simon, at 12, 5, -1, 3

So an mvp destroyer? Pretty cool if I find one with a clear orange flight plate and white rim I'll definitely buy it.

Yeah it looks like axiom with coloured rims and a fancy Simon line logo... yeah kind of the non surprise disc of the year haha. You knew that was coming when he signed.

I'm not sure about the part about "low power players enjoying it as a controlled distance driver" haha, at least he picked the wave as his se commemorative mold.

That's a nice way of saying people who throw 250 will find it a good looking meat hook.

Always a day to look forward to when you get to pick up (or delivery comes of) some new plastic!!! Better than Christmas!

I can throw a flat Star Destroyer a stiff one for headwind and have a few flippy ones for downwind as long as I have some lefty left side of fairway room. So, with the neutron plastic, I'll order a Time-Lapse at the minimum weight of 170g the lowest weight that's going to be offered. I'll keep my eyes peeled for them to come in at OTB Discs, and SunKings however long that may take, also looking for lower weight Plasma Octane and Catalyst for the upcoming strong wind season. My Achilles heel has been MVP/Axiom 13-14 speeds neutrons Relativity, Octane, and Catalyst that were crushed by last year's wind season. I was hoping for over stable this year and the past few months have gripped a Teleport, Dimension, and Delirium and they just don't feel right. No problem with the Plasma Mayhem the only one I kept from last year's wind season. The Plasma is easy for me to grip at any speed. For the time being I still have 3 Innova's at those speeds from last year and have picked up a few others to try out G-Star grippy like the Plasma's.

On a happy note, for about the past 6 weeks I have a happy what I'll call my summertime 27-disc bag putter thru 11 speeds MVP/Axiom with only a Star Mamba being kept. Arriving today Fission Wave 148g for those strong tailwinds coming up soon, and a Plasma Proxy 173g, loving the Eclipse also a 173g dropped a 99-footer putting stance, my longest in the stance a few days ago. I wanted it to be 100-feet so bad, I lasered it 6 times, but averaged out at 99-feet. Perhaps another time.

I feel like I'm now set at putter with the addition of the Plasma Nomad a few months ago, and recently the Eclipse Proxy straight in putting beyond the Nomad, I've dropped two and most misses around the basket, all calmer wind. The Plasma Proxy I'm thinking more of longer distance approaches. I've dropped in several with the Nomad in the 60-75 feet range and is now my go to in C1 in calmer winds. Other putters for approaches Plasma and Eclipse Envy, and Plasma Entropy. Strong wind putting from last year Plasma Envy and Entropy. See what happens in wind with the Proxy's and Nomad, already know it doesn't work with the Eclipse Envy. Having a practice basket at home the past few months, has helped big time.

Big morning Friday, first time in more than three months 15-25 mph wind and gusty, will have rounds 30-40 mph and gusty by the end of the year, insane. Going to bring the Nomad as a 2nd behind the experienced Plasma Envy for putting, and approaches. The F-Wave 148g to catch some tail winds. First time using Neutron Orbital 168g, and Fission Rhythm 167g in that type of wind. All the others in the bag have seen it before. Keeping both Proxy's at home, will work together next week in calmer wind. Looking forward to Friday, I enjoy wind play, just as much as I do wooded golf.

I will be curious to hear how the rhythm holds up for you in that kind of wind. I have a good feeling about its usability but I don't think I've really tested it at that mph. 🤔 the characteristics are good though to fight it, I don't know if there's enough beef to bite back enough but I'm hoping for a steady wind player. I'm playing the 172g circuit neutrons and some flat se 167s.

Speaking of that the octane and catalyst are both flat or hyzer they can't be cheated in the wind. Too far over or too much headwind just rips ya. You might consider a fission octane same weight, and play it like a flip turd, just hyzer it every time... expect the flip and hope you planned for a fade. The Mayhem works because it can deal with an anhyzer angle, octane/catalyst can't go past 10-15 degrees anny, they are very Wraith. The Mayhem is an improved or faster surge.

I'm curious about the new sexy DOTB but it's not in my wheelhouse, even at 170g, but with-1 turn and 3 fade it is probably a nice wind thrower.

I'll get one (stock run, not the first run at 40) just to check it out, I've never gelled with overmold drivers though
