We can argue/discuss the sensibility of living in a desert....but, many live in areas that aren't the smartest. How about all the people living in areas where hurricanes commonly occur or how about living in earthquake zones?

We got 18" of snow this week with single digit temps and 40 mph winds...

But at least we've got plenty of water...

Smartest is relative I'm guessing...

Has nothing to do with smarts, it's people making risk reward calculations relative to the job opportunities and housing costs within a restricted set. Thats why they're not living in Peoria.
