So I've played sky high extensively and #11 is epic, but I'm back in nor cal and de laveaga is in my near future. I've never played it before but I've heard much ado about the top of the world shot there and I'm wondering how the two compare. Which one is longer. Which one is more difficult? More fun? Are there any other epic top of the worlds in ca?

Hole #17 on the West Course at New Hogan Dam in Valley Springs is a sweet 770 foot downhiller. When there is no drought, the lake comes right up to the basket. Epic shot (The big dam hole) and epic 36-hole East and West courses(18 each). Our monthly is this weekend, March 28th at 9 a.m. if anyone is interested.

Why aren't people posting pictures? This kind of thread is only fun when it's full of DG porn.

I've played Sky High and DeLa, but I have to agree Stafford #6 is the best. Just make sure you throw from the long tee - it's another little hike upwards from the regular tee that the path will take you to by default...

Those are all really good ones stardoggy, but a bit of a drive from California. :p

Stafford, DeLa and Sky High are all pretty solid ones, the couple in Bakersfield are fun but not quite at the same level.

Just a few more reasons to visit the Midwest.

Hole 16 at Lake Casitas in Ventura was pretty cool.

Found this on the google while looking for good pics:
