Pros:

Airport Park is very nice. It offers nice elevation changes on a few holes, moderate woods on most, mixing distances nicely throughout. All of the holes are par 3, and a few are kind of long.

There are concrete tees, and the tee signs are really nicely done. The baskets are Innova Discatchers that were nearly pristine (the chains on hole 1 hung toward the downhill side noticeably).

The first hole is a long downhill carry, that is pretty open. You can play a hyzer over the road, or attack it straight on, but there is a sign taking away some space in the middle. The basket is on a slope that makes the approach a little tricky. Hole 3 is the first of several fairly short holes with a fair number of trees. Birdie chances are good if you can hit the line or get a little lucky. 4 is even shorter, teeing over the creek. 6 is a tough drive, a little downhill with narrow gaps through a line of trees early in the fairway. If you make it through it is still a good distance uphill to the left near the dog park. 7 was my favorite hole, with an elevated tee that crosses an open stretch of grass to a cluster of trees with the basket at the center of the island.

9, 10, 11, and 12 are all mid range throws where you can pick up some strokes if you make the lines. 13 and 14 are longer and more open holes, with a big uphill dogleg right on 14. 15 and 17 are both downhill with island greens, OB roads surrounding the pin. 15 is longer, so it doesn't feel like as steep of a drop as 17. 18 is sort of long and a bit uphill, with the pin under a big evergreen. I liked the carved stumps under the power lines to the right of the fairway.

Cons:

The tees could be longer. I had to start my run up behind the box or shorten it up most of the time. I slipped off the end at hole 7 and had to tuck and roll. The woman parked in the mini van probably got a good laugh if she was watching the rearview mirror.

The fairways of hole 8 and hole 9 cross. It is not a huge problem, but might be inconvenient on a busy day. 16 and 17 are kind of near the camping area and the entrance to the airport.

Other Thoughts:

Concordia's Airport Park is really great. I loved the variety. The equipment is top notch and installed very nicely. The layout is logical, and easy to follow, using the park space perfectly. Fun for the average player, should be good for everyone from beginners to pros.

I scored a one over par 55, with six birdies. A couple of those birdies were the benefit of a kind bounce off of a tree, but I missed a couple of putts I could have made. I took double bogies on hole 1 and hole 6.

So Much Fun I Played It Twice 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 19, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- It has signs and tees
- A decent variety of technical and let 'er rip shots
- Most holes make you stop and think
- It makes good use of the whole park
- Didn't feel like I'd ever lose a disc
- It flows quite well

Cons:

These are fairly minor

- Some holes didn't appear to have an obvious path from tee to basket (the ones I was 'unhappy' with, I made par on! My thought is that when you stand on a tee, there should be at least one clear path the designers thought you should take to the basket...and then you choose where you want to go)

- The fairways on holes 8 and 9 cross

- There are a couple of roads that come into play and you need to be aware if the campground is busy,

- couple of longer walks between baskets and next tee (12-13, 15-16) but not bad

Other Thoughts:

On my journey to play ever course in Kansas I had so much playing it in the evening that I got up and played it again in the morning before leaving town!

When I played this course, tees and signs didn't exist. Fortunately, it had been mapped in the UDisc app to help me get around. There were several times the distances in the app didn't appear accurate so use the posted distances.

There are some plain awesome holes on this course.

Combine this course with a trip to Miltonvale and you've got yourself one great day of disc golf!

I'm really looking forward to coming back and playing again.

Course upgrades in progress... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 8, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Now it's got 18 permanent baskets and uses the whole park for play. Recently got cement tee pads and soon to have tee signs.

There's quite a bit of elevation change in this park. It's not constantly changing but when you're going up hill or down hill, you'll know it.

Still has the same front 9 layout as before. The back 9 being a little bit more open than the front. Still a good amount of trees, except for hole 13(WIDE open).

A couple of island shots on holes 15 & 17. I'd assume a lie on the road would be O.B. for these holes.

Good variety of shots and conditions. The open holes are fairly windy and long. A few short but tight wooded shots. Most of the back 9 holds low ceilings so it helps to keep em low.

All the times I've played here, I've never played in grass taller than my ankles so the park maintenance is great.

Cons:

Course is currently getting some work on it(4-14-15) Will have a CONS update soon.

Other Thoughts:

Check out Concordia Disc Golf Facebook page for info and to look at the layout for the new 18 hole course.

Definitely worth the trip because you can hit up Miltonvale while in the area too. Two awesome courses all located in Cloud County.

Come let em fly at the Airport!!!!!
