Pros:
- Excellent use of elevation and terrain as obstacles
- Cut out of the forest so the lines are very tight
- Brilliant basket locations on the par 4 holes
- Stunning views and a serene river with a waterfall in the summer
- Throwing over the river is exciting and challenging
- Punishes errant throws well to the point a 10 foot pitch out is often the best play aka trouble off the fairway
- Large scoring differences, birdies and triple bogeys exist here even on short holes
- Fantastic shot variety, doesn't favor any style
- Rewards accurate throws and good course management
- Six more holes being built as I write this up
- Multiple tee pads but not "long and short" which is often boring, alt tee pads have different fairways most of the time
- Long pad for hole 2 is at the base of a (summer) waterfall
Cons:
- Navigation is rough, couldn't find the first hole without Udisc
- Tee pads are a mix of gravel and dirt with rocks and roots in the middle of them
Other Thoughts:
I showed up and saw some guys working, decided to talk to them and it turns out they work for the local DG club. They told me about how new this place is and that they were cleaning up deadfall and other things on the course. They are working tirelessly to put in 6 more holes, some on the other side of the river and a bridge to get there of course. I'm planning on coming back in summer of 2024 to play the new holes they are making and can't wait. If you are a fan of very wooded courses and solitude this is a fantastic place for you. Worth it for course baggers and everyone honestly. This is just short of a destination course but still a must play if anywhere near Logan.
