Reviewed: Played on:May 17, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Cement Tee pads
New Prodigy baskets
Nice use of the "fake" elevation
Decent flow to the course, easy to follow mostly.

Cons:

Some VERY dangerous holes
No tee signs only polls with numbers on them.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course but dangerous course.

West Texas is flat and very few tree's. This course is an oasis from that using the hill put in for an stage and the trees from the park.

Now I showed up on a Monday evening, but all the ballfields had games going on and the weather was perfect. I had a hard time finding a parking spot.

Hole one should have told me what was to come. Longer hole around the edge of a pond with several people walking in the fairway.

Hole 2 was the first to use the big hill, throwing from one side to the other. Unfortunately I had some fitness people using the hill by the basket to run up and down.

Hole 3 was another fun shot, off the top of the hill to an island green surrounded by an old fence on 2 sides and marked with string for the rest.

Hole 4 was your typical west Texas shot over some brush, got to get 300ft to made the clearing.

hole 5 goes back to the hill, basket was up on top. Again, I had to wait for some park users to clear the basket area.

Hole 6 uses hole 3's tee pad throwing into the "bowl" over the stage.

Hole 7 was another west Texas hyzer shot over some brush to a sandy green.

Then this is where I had some issues with the course. Hole 8 was super dangerous with a walking path coming down the fairway. you have a dog park to the right and it really is a blind shot.

Holes 9 and 10 are away from the crowds and only errant shots have the ball fields come into play.

Hole 11 was another dangerous shot, you can't really see the basket from the tee, it's a short shot but you cross over a walking path and those same pine tree's would also be hiding walkers.

Hole 12 was not too bad, you cross over a sidewalk, but at least there were no tree's to hide other park users.

Hole 13 was an issue. Between the kids using a dirt spot in teh fairway to ride there bikes over, someone parked a truck next to the ball field on the right side of the fairway and then there was a couple sitting 20ft behind the basket watching a ball game from the shade of the pine trees in the outfield.

Then it got really bad, that was not the only peole watching the games from the tree line in the outfields. Hole 14 had several groups in the trees. I had to throw to the right, and then back to the basket or risk hitting someone.

I thought 14 was bad, then I played 15, it is a harder left to right shot and I thought I had a safe shot and wound up landing in a tree, 20ft from the basket, but above a family watching the game.

Hole 16 had people walking from the ball fields to their cars parked along the street. There are a couple of mando's on this hole making it a long straight hole.

Hole 17 has a "clowns mouth" mando but has a walking path on the left side of the fairway. I assume this is played OB in a tournament setting, but it was not a safe shot with people using the path.

Hole 18, easiest hole on the course but I had kids running across the fairway.

In general, this is a fun course with some challenging holes. However I wish I had the park to myself. I did not see any other disc golfers on the course. I wonder if it was not because of all the other park users.

Would I play here again? Actually I would enjoy another round out here, as long as I can play when there are not so many baseball games going on. The course has some great holes that are fun to throw. Just dangerous to play in a busy park. The danger factor is the only reason I didn't rate this course higher.
