Very tight fairways 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 12, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

It was right beside the highway, very easy to find especially if you want a quick round while road trippin'. The have brand new Innova Discatcher baskets. Not much other good things to say.

Cons:

This course is poorly designed. The first three holes are silly, they are 200+ feet down very narrow foot paths that are between 6' & 12' wide with heavy brush on both sides. If you kick off the path, you will need to putt directly back to the path before continuing. My girl friend quit playing the course after hole 2 because it was so frustrating. If you are with a newer player I recommend skipping the first three holes. There is also one more hole (hole 12?) that again super narrow and heavy brush but after 50' it has a small dogleg, so you have to long putt to the dogleg, short putt, then throw up the 10' wide alley to the road, then make a right to go to the basket.

The rest of the holes are either in the wide open or you are throwing up old roads. Becareful these roads are in use. I threw my drive on one hole, then a security car came over the rise and drove right over my disc!

All holes on the roads are short straight shots with a basket beside the road. The baskets in the open area are longer but relatively easy as they are wide open shots. Becareful on hole 7(?) we threw to the wrong basket as #7 is tucked into the woods while #13(?) was about 100' away in the open. After playing to the wrong basket we ended up going to the wrong tee and playing another couple of holes, then spent 15 minutes retracing our steps trying to figure out where we went wrong. There is one hole (hole 4?) that is about 150' where you throw over a parking lot to a green. There was someone parked there so I threw wide of the basket so not to hit the car (easy birdie if no cars there).

There are no tee pads or markings on the ground, only signs at each tee.

Other Thoughts:

Do not park at the first tee like we did. There is a gate just before the 1st tee which I think is supposed to be closed. When we finished, the gate was closed (open when we arrived) fortunately it was broken and we were able to swing it open even though it had a lock on it.

It is great to finally see disc golf growing in the maritimes. I've driven this route many times as an ex-maritimer and now getting the chance to stop on the way to Halifax and play a couple of courses was a real joy especially to get out and stretch the legs on a long drive.
