Pros:
-I just want to start out by saying I was thoroughly impressed by this course. The scenery, the hole design, the flow of the course everything just really came together nicely.
-As I said, the hole design here was really solid. I think it somewhat favors Left-hand backhand or Right-hand forehand, but there was quite a bit of variety in hole types and lengths. It was kind of a tale of two nines with the front nine being pretty wooded and the back nine being somewhat wooded, but with quite a bit of open space to work your shot.
-I thought this was really beautiful course with the pond, streams and densely wooded pine forests.
-Despite being right off GA-92, it felt secluded and private. I was the only player on the course, but I did play on a weekday morning so that is probably not a true indication of how busy the course is.
-The signs here are excellent. I thought the engravings on the bridges were also a nice touch. Next tee signs and arrows were strategically place and navigation was fairly simple.
Cons:
-The biggest con for this course is that there was quite a bit of flooding and mud on just about every hole and based on the lay of the land this is probably the case most of the year. But with a name like, "Boundary Waters Park" what did you expect?
-I saw a few extra pin placements, but I wish there was a second set of tees to make your experience more customizable.
-Despite my immense enjoyment with this course and the various hole shapes and designs there is somewhat of a repetitive feel to the course,
Other Thoughts:
Seriously, this course was WET. Pretty much every hole had standing water and mud on it which dampened the experience a bit, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this course. I'm a little surprised that the overall rating of this course isn't higher, but I think it will come as the course garners more reviews. If you're traveling through or in the neighborhood make a point to play this course!
