Pros:
The new tee signs here are an excellent pattern for every course to follow. I heard they were created by a guy in Oregon. They look very similar to the great tee signs at Milo McGiver near Porland so the same person may have done both, but these are even better. There are many things to like about these, but notice in the pictures that these tee signs have a bolt that tells you clearly which basket position is active. Milo's don't have the identifying bolt, but still have the attractive picture with basket locations.
Near a lake with scenic views.
There is a color course map, which is needed, at the entrance station if you ask for it when you pay the $10 entry fee.
The 5-10 minute hike between 13's basket and 14's tee is beautiful, if you are not in a rush and have time to enjoy it.
Nice benches have been installed.
Good signage has been added throughout to keep you from getting lost, which was my biggest problem the first time I came here.
The tee pads are concrete with a rough finish. They are long enough for a good run up.
There are nice steps installed after 13 to help you onto the nature trail to 14.
There's a porta potty at 14, which is nice since it's a remote area.
Cons:
There were too many people on the course. I waited on the tenth tee for 5 minutes while a mom and dad were on a nature hike with their 2 kids looking at a lizard. I eventually asked them to move.
In the fourth fairway I had to wait for a school bus with kids walking around.
After the 13th basket it's a long way to get to the 14th tee. This is a CON if you're in a hurry, but a PRO if you have the time to enjoy the scenic nature hike.
Without the map I would've never found the tenth tee, which is behind the store across the street.
It's an RV park mostly, which means there's a lot of people around.
Other Thoughts:
What a difference more than 8 months make! The guys and/or girls working on this course deserve a gold star. Since I was there the first time in early April they have put in great tee signs, as well as many other improvements.
I uploaded a picture of 16, which includes the new sign next to the nice tee pad and the new bench. The other pictures posted as of now only show the tee views with the old tee signs and don't show the new benches.
