Nice use of elevation on several of the holes.

Can be swampy after a big rain.

This course isn't the most interesting, but you can get in a quick 9 or 18, most of the holes are wide open with very little in the way. Watch out for holes in the ground on 2/11 there are several on the green where you could hurt yourself if you aren't paying attention where you are stepping.

Officially, this is an 18-hole course. In reality, it's a 9-hole course. Each basket has two tees, but they're so close to each other and the vegetation is so sparse that you might as well consider them long and short tees for the same hole.

Tees are natural. I'm not expecting that you need to worry about excessive wear on the tee areas, though. There aren't many trees on the course, but they made good use what they had, and very good use of the low hills common in the park.

Signage is minimal, just the tee numbers. The signs don't align in any way to where you're supposed to throw, so the first time through, there's a lot of guessing. On the other hand, we guessed correctly at each hole, once we found an actual tee marker, so it's not as bad as it would be most other places. (Hole 1 starts ahead and slightly to the right of the road into the park.) Spotting baskets is easy, since there's not a lot of vegetation on the course, and the baskets are nice and bright white, both rim and baskets.

[-]Ultimately, this is a course for locals only looking for something fast, or for a bit of variety. It's not worth going out of your way to get to. If making a trip to the area, Xenia Rotary park is a better choice.[/-]

<span class="italic">Late 2019 update:</span>

The first couple holes of this course were removed to make room for the new championship course that was installed. I talked with some of the park people, and they're leaving the course in for now, in anticipation of potential plans to add a campground to this park, pending the results of a feasibility survey. I'm not sure where in the park they're planning on putting the campground in, but I'm anticipating that if it happens, there will be some modifications to the course, if for no other reason than they need to replace the first couple holes. And hopefully to adjust the course so that it starts and ends near the campground.

This means that the park will have disc golf options for novice players that won't scare them off the sport. Though I hope that if they keep the course, they show it the same love that they showed the championship course--better signage, teepads, and maybe a few more trees.
