Pros:
The "Campground" course at Caesar Ford is still mown, clean and playable… well, at least the seven holes that remain (the space for 1 & 2 is now occupied by holes 10 & 11 of the "real" course here). You'll throw from the vicinity of your choice of two, 2' tall, numbered sign posts to the DD Veteran baskets shown on the map here on DGCR. The course flows from a spot just out past the 10th Champ basket and flows clockwise back to the parking lot at the 'hub' of the park. There IS variety in line shaping and elevation, with aces being a real possibility on holes 4, 5 & 9, an elevated basket on 8, and even a bit of 'length' on holes 7 & 8. You may opt to throw from the numbered posts 12-18, if you want a bit more length.
Cons:
But for the most part, the fact that there are no clearly defined tee foul lines (it's all natural turf), no information on the signage, and missing holes, the "little" course feels somewhat unnecessary next to the Championship course (which is top-tier). There isn't much on the 'campground' course to challenge skill levels above Recreational (which, I suppose, makes it a complementary course on the same site!)
Other Thoughts:
As is, the course offers a chance to loosen up your arm if you have to wait for a tee time on the Champ side, and you can tune up your approaches and putting. If they DO add in camping or bring in parking for a big event, I could see this space being taken over for that.
