Reviewed: Played on:Aug 19, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-baskets are in good condition
-mature trees in play on most holes
-signs at most tees, layout is pretty easy to follow
-allows for short game practice
-great for beginners and kids
-low ceilings on many holes force you to hit a good, low line to get in the circle
-trash & recycle cans, bathrooms, water fountain, pavilion, playground

Cons:

-very small park with a playground, could lead to safety issues but i would imagine it's not too busy
-most of the baskets are tucked very close behind trees, you can't really run directly at most of the baskets despite most holes being in the <200' range
-many tees are very close to the previous basket

Other Thoughts:

Campbell Park, aka West Park, is a small community park in a small town of 2000 people. There is not a lot of space to work with but there are lots of mature trees throughout the park so most of the holes are short with trees to avoid or work around with low ceilings.

Experienced players can play this pitch & putt course with a putter but there are obstacles to avoid. The baskets are placed close to the backside of a tree on many holes so you need to have an accurate low drive that lands on the correct side of the guardian trees to have a putt for deuce. Hole 4 is a little different from the others, having a small water tower in the fairway and a batting cage right in front of the basket. Hole 9 has the playground in play.

The size of the park really limits what can be done here and there are some safety concerns but I would assume that the park is rarely busy and the course rarely played. Basic sense should prevent any issues and any players that happen to come along here probably wouldn't fall into the "chucker" category.

Come down 7th St instead of 6th and there is parking on the north side of the park. You will see the first tee in front of the pavilion, playing west. The course basically makes a counterclockwise loop. It's a place to throw at baskets in an area with very few courses. Worth checking out if you are in Imperial but not worth going out of your way to play.
