Hardest Church Course This Reporter Has Ever Seen! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 29, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

With hole lengths ranging from 301-725 feet, this isn't your standard recreational church course. Throw in some weird hole shapes, water hazards, and poor navigation and this course becomes a nightmare for rec and beginner throwers.

Advanced/pro types might like the length and difficulty here. MIGHT, I say. That's not to say that this is a terrible course. It has nice baskets, ok tee signs, and well-marked grass tees. And I'm guessing that this course doesn't get played a lot, so you probably will have the whole course to yourself if you come to throw it. I think that it also suffers from having two much better courses nearby.

Cons:

The course could certainly benefit from a redesign, and concrete tee pads would be a nice addition.

Other Thoughts:

Bag it if you must, but if down here on vacation I would recommend the much better Commons Park or even better yet the nearby Okeeheelee Park course before this one.

Comm. of Hope UMC 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 30, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has tee signs with par and distance

Natural tees were flat and fair to drive from

Mostly open holes with good use of water hazards

Had whole course to myself on a Saturday morning

Maintained

Cons:

Shared fairways of holes 1&9 and 5&7

Unfair fairways of holes 3, 4, 5, and 9

Overgrown area near the pond at hole 5

Difficult course for a beginner

Other Thoughts:

A good, challenging course on church grounds that is probably too challenging for the beginner because of the long holes that have water hazards and some require throwing straight. The church did well with what the property they have but I think it could be designed better. When entering the property, #1 tee and #9 basket is to the left of the main building.
