Played it to get it off the bucket List drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 8, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Each hole had a pad.
-Bathroom to change into DG Clothes.
-Different types of shots available to use.
-Lost and Found Box

Cons:

-Water by the lake and streams. Especially hole 6 and tee pad of 8 and 10.
-Have to walk on the sidewalk to walk to holes 11-17.
-Arrows to holes are not that helpful. Got lost from hole 8 to hole 9.

Other Thoughts:

This course has some huge water issues. That stream and lake smelt like crap and there was a crap ton of standing water on the property by hole 6, Tee of 8, and Tee of 10. Also, it was pretty easy to get lost for a first-timer. It would be ideal if someone made arrows for the baskets to point us in the right direction of the next Tee. In the end, if you are bored and down near the Monroe area and need a quick place to play, this would be a good stop. Definitely don't drive purposely to this spot to play.

Too Easy 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 18, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ 18 holes that, for the most part, are easy to navigate.

+ Some holes incorporate interesting elevation changes. #9's downhill finish is a nice touch, and 17's placement on the edge of a hill adds an element of strategy to an otherwise plain hole.

+ There are a few raised baskets. #1 and #9 I believe.

+ Wind came into play on the more open holes.

+ The practice basket is setup in a way that you can treat it as safari #19 after throwing #18, which is always fun.

+ There appeared to be no where you could lose a disc here, everything seems pretty broken in with minimal rough off the fairway.

Cons:

- 100% devoid of challenge. For me getting a 3 on any of these felt like a bogie.

- There is a navigational issue somewhere in the walk between 9 and 10 I believe it was. There was a convenient looking bridge that was closed and I had to walk along the road on the sidewalk, then back track a bit to find the next tee. Not a big deal but worth pointing out.

Other Thoughts:

I shot -15 my first round here using 4 or 5 molds off the tee. This might be the easiest 18 hole course I've played.

I played it once and while some holes were a little bit fun, for the most part I was bored to death. I ended up trying to shoot as quickly as possible and just finish up so I could go check out another course. I don't plan to come back except maybe to film some ace runs or something.

As far as easy 18 hole courses go Renske is more conveniently located for me and is right next to one of my favorite courses.

If you're a beginner or introducing someone to disc golf this course has merit, if you're intermediate or better pass. There are superior courses in the area regardless of your skill level.

Course Designer Blog 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 23, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

I rated the course a 2 so that I could blog below.

Cons:

Blogging ready to commence.

Other Thoughts:

Blog. I have been totally blown away by the turnout on the beginner courses we have in the area and therefore and really excited to install one a little bit away from the greater Charlotte area. The course is short but not devoid of challenge. Although the land is mostly flat, there are some recreational fields that have some drop offs at the corners and Rob G and I were able to utilitze those for some scary greens. True to my nature, I used the oversized tires that were on the property to give some elevation on two holes also. You could call it my fingerprint. The park is planning other activities in this park and I am sure that I will have to morph the course in the future on 3 or 4 holes. Rob G and I will be installing 18 concrete tee pads and also 18 tee signs. We intend to do benches also, even though the course is short. We want this course to mimic the ammenities that make other courses stand out. We know that it won't get high ratings due to it's length but that is not our goal. We are the evil pushers doing our best to create disc golf junkies. So, come on out and practice your short game. After hole 18 I will have a discrete hole # 19 that will play 440' to the practice basket.
(concrete tee pads and tee signs have been installed. Now looking for supports for the bridge and when they are acquired we will build the bridge.)
