Hole 1 is a nice "top of the world" shot, fun to just bomb it out there see how far you can get it.
Hole 2 is a good challenge with a 20-30' drop on the back-side of the pin.
Hole 5 requires some decent accuracy as it's up on a hill, and the fairway (the higher ground) curves to the right a bit before coming back left up the hill. Crazy (25' or better) drop just 10 feet or so to the right side that you can't see until you're up top.
Hole 6 is a decent length dogleg to the left, perched up on a bit of an outcropping for a fun challenge.
Hole 8 is a bit longer with another "top of the world" shot, and prettier, especially at sunset, wow!
Nice tall tee markers make it easy to find the tees (except of course the missing tee 2).
This course is in the middle of scenic rock formations (badlands), along with some deer and other wildlife.

Tee box for hole 2 is gone, probably washed away. I'm guessing the blue flags are supposed to mark the new tee location based on other reviews, we went a bit to the right of those trying to guess based on the map.
Hole 3 really should be par 3, must be around 250-275'. The basket is kind of "perched" which adds some difficulty, but not really enough to make it a par 4.
Hole 7, on the other hand, could almost be a par 4, as it sure feels longer than hole 3, but it's listed as a par 3. Fun hole otherwise, some tricky outcroppings to navigate if you can't throw over 200'.
Hole 9 ends half a mile from the start, so it's a solid hike back to the parking lot.
The actual tees are overgrown, sometimes sunken down, and not really usable.

Definitely potential for expansion along the creek past hole 9, or even above that on the hill.
As mentioned, tee #2 is missing, look for a metal fence-post across the creek-bed from hole 1 towards another tree. Then go to the right just a bit following the top edge of the creek-bed and see if you can find the two blue flags/markers.
When there's been a lot of rain, like we had this year, keep a close eye on where your disc lands. The grass can be 3-6' high, sage brush all over, making discs hard to find. Impossible to find if you don't watch your shot land.
Of course, watch out for snakes and cacti, didn't see any snakes, but I know they are out there, and cacti were everywhere.
Took two of us a bit over two hours our first time through, make sure you take a pic of the map for reference.

- Nine permanent metal baskets with a level mounting, all in good repair.
- Nice practice basket and accurate course map near hole 1's tee.
- Metal poles mark the tee boxes (other than #2) which helps navigation.
- Very nice use of elevation.
- A couple of great basket placements, holes 2 & 6 come to mind. 2 is right near the edge of a very high river bed wall, maybe 20' high, giving that green some serious teeth. 6 is back in a cove of really cool Badlands bluffs.
- Really cool terrain. Disc golfing through Badlands offers some of the more unique looking country I've played in. This aspect pretty makes the course worth playing.

- Almost no line shaping required. With minimal trees in play, you can throw more of less whatever shot you'd like off the tees. Hole 6 is the exception forcing a right to left with the large hill you play around.
-The tee boxes are terrible. Made with railroad ties framing in rough ground with a metal pole behind them. Pretty well unusable. Hole 2, as mentioned in previous review, just has blue flags on the ground and is found on top of the river bank to the left of hole 1's basket.
- Not a lot of variation in hole length. A couple of middle length holes and everything else was a full pull or more.
- The course finishes in the bottom of the little valley you play in, far away from where you park. Pretty crummy death march through the fields and back up the hill. There's a ton of unused terrain with good elevation and even some trees that seems like it could be incorporated in to the course making the loop, at worst, end on top of the valley and leave a downhill walk to the parking area.

Overall, a decently fun course in really cool country. Mostly throwing bombs with minimal requirements for precision off of the tees. Not the best golf you'll ever play but worth the spin just for a Badlands experience. It is adjacent to a college campus but I'm not sure what amenities might be available or accessible. Pretty rugged terrain and Eastern MT can be a hostile environment so bring water, wear appropriate shoes/boots and watch out for snakes and sharp plants.

The layout of the course is pretty neat. The holes make sense and take advantage of the vast distances and big elevations around here. Baskets are in great shape but that is about it for the aesthetics of the course. Great hiking opportunity and it's tough to beat the scenery for a southeastern Montana course.

The map of the layout next to hole 0 (practice basket) is quite accurate. Be sure to take a picture of it with your phone to help navigate later on!

No real teepads. There are outlines where they should be (except for hole 2, across the wash from basket 1, now marked by blue flags) but the grasses have taken over. Look for sign posts that will lead you to where the teepads "are"...

The fairways are not maintained at all. Long grass, countless amounts of brush and TONS of cacti. Wear real shoes or you'll regret it!

Hole 9 finishes FAR, FAR away from the parking lot. There could be other holes to fill in the distance because where the Scouts put it makes no sense in terms of practicality.

Fun course if you are with others who can help watch and search for discs. If you choose to play it solo then be warned, you may spend a lot of time searching.

Watch out for ticks and rattlesnakes and cacti.

Saw several mule deer running around the course, so that's pretty neat.

Course was built by the Scouts a while back. It could use some revisions and lots of love to improve it.

Wonderful mix of prairie, undulating topography, creek-bottom, and badlands washes/buttes. Longer holes, treacherous pin placements. Designed and built as an eagle scout project!!

Deep prairie grass and leafy spurge can make it easy to lose disks! 2nd hole t-box was washed away.. we play off the open area west of 1st basket, and call it a par 5, and call the third hole a par 3, not a 4. Ticks in spring?

All holes except # 2 have a tall post marking the t-box. Plan on the first round taking a couple hours, as you get your bearings. Glendive courses deserve a couple days.
