Pros:
- Awesome scenery including snow capped surrounding mountains
- Wildlife abundant from birds and squirrels to deer and foxes
- Disc Golf only property (Sans a few dog walkers in the morning)
- Lots of OB including streams, ponds, and markers
- Newish course brings with it new baskets and concrete pads
- Design uses every inch of property without much if any overlap
- 2-3 par four holes for a different kind of challenge
- Difficult par three holes from Blue and Gold tee pads
- Variety of open, semi open, and tight fairways
- Good mix of left to right and right to left shots
- Bad throws are punished adequately by OB or dense foliage off the fairway
- No litter or vandalism present probably due to being near an affluent neighborhood
Cons:
- Almost literally zero elevation
- A lot of lumps and mounds even in the more open areas of grass so rollers are not really possible most of the time
- There is a section in the middle of the course that zig zags back and forth with many holes looking the same
- Aside from the par 4 holes there isn't a ton as far as distance variety is concerned
- If you throw one over the fence lining the property who knows if you'll ever get it back
- Crude tee signs might as well not exist
- It's hard to follow without Udisc and many tee pads are grouped close by
Other Thoughts:
Overall a very solid course in South SLC that I will play again when I'm in the neighborhood. The local club working on this has done and is doing a fantastic job keeping up the course. The design is fantastic, a true masterpiece in using all of the land provided to you efficiently without overlapping holes or adding fillers. This might be one of those course that over time I move my rating up.
