Pros:
+ The first hole is a great starter: mostly open with some trees to dodge, and a shallow stream crossing in front of the green. Trees guarding the basket that will knock discs down into the water
+ After #1, the rest of the course plays with a lot tighter lines through the woods
+ Hole #4 is a dogleg left with some serious curve to it. A nice chainge, given how straight many of the other holes are
+ Hole #8 is a standout, because it's downhill, really narrow - and the only hole longer than 300' from the main (white) tees
Cons:
- Signs show alternate tees, and alternate pin placements on some holes. I don't think the alternate tees have gravel (and they didn't have signage), and there was no way of knowing which pin placement was being used (but I don't think any of the alternate placements were in effect)
- Although it's a loop, there are few spots where it's a bit hard to find the next hole: transitioning from 1 to 2, you have to cross the main walking path and backtrack to find the tee. The walk from 7 to 8 is long and wooded, and the trail isn't very clear. If there were arrows or other indicators, I missed them
Other Thoughts:
COURSE AMENITIES SUMMARY: Excellent signage and DisCatcher baskets, basic gravel tees, cart friendly
~ If I lived close by, I could see playing here regularly - especially with the second set of tees and the occasional change to pin placement. The course isn't flashy or particularly hard (you'll always be able to scramble for par), but it can keep your woods game in shape, and reward precision with birdies. Bring your mids and approaches to sharpen your aim
