Decent small town course

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 26, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Tee's are marked with Stone Fence Posts with hole number and distance.
Baskets were still in decent shape

Cons:

Small park, other park users may come into play.
Hole 8 can be hard to find without a map
Grass tee areas

Other Thoughts:

I happen to love playing small town courses, I would consider this course a Gem of small town courses. It's not too short, nor too long.

While mostly open, the course does use the large tree's on most of the holes.

Hole 8 as mentioned below is the most memorable hole being a tunnel shot down 2 rows of large tree's.

Hole nine is tricky if you throw about 300ft, the creek will come into play.

There is not much other to say other than you do throw over a picnic table, near a swing set and some play ground equipment. Just use your best judgment if other park users are out when you play.

Would I play here again? Well, not going out of my way, but this would be a nice stop if I was driving though town again. I really wish I had stopped at the hot dog stand before I left town.

Fun Course! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 11, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Well kept park
- Good basket placement using natural resources
- Restrooms onsite
- Tee 1 is near the shelter house and only road into the park
- Tee signs on each hole with par and distance (added an updated photo)
- Hole 8!

Cons:

- Swing set may cause some issues on hole 9
- Could be tough to play some holes after heavy rains due to high creek
- Unclear path from basket 7 to tee 8 (walk south past the museum almost to road)

Other Thoughts:

I really enjoyed playing this course. Hole 8 is the signature hole down through a tunnel of trees. There were some short holes to make runs at and longer holes to stretch it out a bit.

Nice variety on the 9 holer 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 1, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

There is a good mix of short, moderate, and long holes here. Rounds will play quickly.
The flow is logical and the park itself is well maintained. There are other amenities here like a tennis court, play ground, and restrooms.
Nice footbridge to assist in crossing the creek. The designers used the land and trees that were available to their best potential.
Hole observations:
1-Low ceiling shot with the basket in the open
2-Low ceiling shot with the creek on the right
3-open hole and your chance to run the chains
4-is similar to 3 but there are trees behind the basket
5-Longer hole with a tree mid fairway and the creek on the right
6-open hole and slightly uphill
7-slightly downhill hole, watch out for the museum on the right of this hole
8-sweet tunnel shot, and the coolest hole here in my opinion
9-another long hole that shoots over the creek

Cons:

No distances on the tee markers. Not a big deal for me but it still is a nice thing to know before you throw. No trash cans or benches.
Could get hot in the summer as there isn't much shade. Wind will add a challenge to your round here.
Tee 8 will get super slick after a hard rain.
The walk from 7's basket to 8's tee slows the flow down a bit.

Other Thoughts:

This little nine hole course offers a good variety of shots. There are a couple of holes to air out your favorite driver, a nice techical shot on hole 8, a couple of holes where you must keep it low to score well, and a few holes where you can run the chains. This is a good place to introduce the game to a new player and it also has enough challenge for a more seasoned player to enjoy their experience as well. For a small town like Lacrosse I believe this course will serve the locals well. Worth the stop if you are passing thru.

Unexpected Park Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 24, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets are new and permanently in the ground. Tee Markers are easy to see and easy to find baskets to throw to. Course has a nice layout and room for growth with added trees or obstacles. Hole 8 has a nice tunnel shot.

Cons:

Mostly straight, and very few trees.

Other Thoughts:

Was very unexpected to find this course. I was just driving by and noticed it. It has great baskets and they are new. Not many people play here from the looks of the grass tees.
