Pros:
Harcrest Park's DGC is a short, simple course that offers a quick round. The fairways and landing zones are well-defined, and were well-mowed on my visit despite being the summer. The layout is easy to follow with a good in and out. The modest elevation is used effectively to promote some interesting shots.
Parking is immediately adjacent and there are compost toilets on site. There's a jungle gym for kids and the view can be pretty.
Cons:
This disc golf course is to me the worst of both worlds: its play provides little to no interest to the vast majority of players, yet its terrible rough prevents it from serving its most promising function as a casual course that beginners, children, and course baggers can enjoy. The rough is significant and provides the majority of whatever technical challenge / interest exists, given that trees are barely in play and the elevation is modest. Even going just a few inches in will have you searching for discs. Beginners will have a hard time avoiding the weeds and more experienced players will be deterred from attempting the shots that are visible as they aren't worth the headache of combing through knee-high weeds and grass.
Other Thoughts:
This course to me is only worth a visit if you're in the absolute immediate area or if you're a course bagger. It's among the worst in the region.
