Pros:
+ Great variety of routes on multiple pins. Works well for lefty/forehand and RHBH players.
+ Great variety of different difficulty in shots ranging from hyzers to long straight tunnels.
+ Beautiful park overall
+ Was told by a pedestrian that she's happy this course was put in because she saw shady things happening in the woods from time to time and it deterred her from wanting to walk through the park. She loves that we have such a large presence here already and drive away some of the skeevy people.
+ Signage notifying pedestrians to watch for flying discs are great!
+ Bricks to show direction of next tee pad
Cons:
Updated 7/22:
I had 4 cons listed out here that have ALL been resolved. This is a really great 9 hole course with a wide variety of play and the course lead lives nearby and changes the pin location frequently to keep it fresh.
Other Thoughts:
They have a dedicated crew working to make this park really great so I'm sure some nice pin signage is yet to come. With it, this course will be great and I will definitely update my ratings when that happens.
My wife is a lefty and this has been her favorite course so far out of the few we've played in the East Bay. She loved having all the right curving options to go to on each pin.
Great to see so many people out playing. I played 18 at busy Hillcrest and then went over to a packed Walden Park for another 9. Lots of activity in the area which is only going to help grow the sport.
Don't forget to bring a towel! Cut grass and dew on mornings will plague your discs. Bring one or two towels.
