Some Potential, Some Disrepair 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 31, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Plays on a quiet plot of campus
-Mix of somewhat wooded / full open
-Not a bad course for beginners (except baskets, see cons)
-Disc loss and hazards minimal

Cons:

-DisCatcher Baskets have smaller than usual area for success (Deep baskets / short chains - see Basket #7 pic)
-2 Blue bricks with hole # and distance (in yards) mark tees, so natural tees
-Tee bricks mostly overgrown, some faded
-Needed UDisc to even find Tee #1 (Added a map)
-Not much interest for experienced players

Other Thoughts:

Iowa Central Community College has a passable DGC located on the western edge of its campus in Fort Dodge, IA. An OK beginner course with the longest hole at 289'. Tee boxes are marked with 2 blue bricks in the grass. These have, unfortunately, succumbed to overgrowth and fading in the sun. The baskets are a little tough to catch as well, the deep basket and slightly short chains leave a smaller than normal area to get your disc in there, For more experienced players, this could be a place to shore up your short game and zero on tight baskets, I guess. Baskets are also looking aged with some rusting. Holes #1-4 play in a more wooded area with blind tee shots on #1 and #2. Holes #5-9 play mostly wide open with a few trees on #5-7 to work around. A nice idea to have on a Community College campus, but needs some upkeep. Layout is OK, better to follow with the added map, now. Concrete tees, better baskets, or at least cleaning up / re-painting the blocks would help here. A quick round, a place to throw if Sunkissed Meadows is busy or a warm up for the same. I might play here again, if in the area.
