A fun little course for new players 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 27, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Newish Innova Catchers
New signs
Easy to navigate
A great course to teach people about the game of disc golf.
Great for short rounds
Mostly good flow
Holes with good design - #1, #8, #13, #15, #16 and #17

Cons:

I feel there were some oversights in design for this course although there were some decently mixed in holes. Some of the other holes left me scratching my head.

Hole #1 basket is extremely close to Hole #2s tee pad and Hole #18s basket. There is plenty of room to not have all three of those holes on top of each other. That is a safety issue.

I wish they would have used some of the beautiful woods they had to tuck baskets into since it's all cleared and it's an old growth forest for less upkeep.(#4, #9) this would give players some more variety and challenges with minimal change.

#9 I believe is the big down hole, which in my opinion is a fun hole, but it would have been nice to introduce players to a hole that requires two/three full drives as the length of fairway behind the basket easily extended another 300ft around the bend. (A par 5 would help this course with variety too). Moving that hole back would have set up #10s tee pad on the edge of the woods and then have the option to play through them to the current basket location would make for a good transition between holes.

#2 and #3 are practically the same distance and they are back to back holes, there just happens to be a tree in the way on #2. Hole #5s basket would be nice to have it set off the front cedar tree a few more feet. Currently you can throw a shot, hit the tree and still be well within the circle for a 2. A rule of thumb for the basket would at least be circles edge from the tree to the basket, so there is less of a reward for hitting the tree as a front stop and being in the circle.

It seems like the designer found some great holes and then maybe had some issues finding spots for some other C- filler holes on the course. Very crowded in spots around the course.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fun little course with lots of ace runs for advance to pro level players, but it's also great for practicing your short game too.

Now granted this course is geared more towards beginners, but if they had some longer pins or pads this would be fun a lot of skill levels. Based on the current layout, changing a few of those holes would be extremely tough as they are pinched down and right on top of one another.
