You probably won't have any trouble getting onto the course and should not be impeded in your playing. I found paths mowed from basket to basket. It plays around the perimeter of the park which allows you to play 18 without playing the same 9 twice.

The course is a bit on the short side. It isn't real close to any other courses and doesn't hold enough value to make a trip just to play it.

I think Chained Evil and NCK1990 have done well in reviewing this course and will encourage you to read their comments. I played the course in a counter clockwise direction and wheeled distances from basket to basket. The distances recorded on this website are clockwise and done by GPS. Most of NCK1990's numbers are close to mine but a cuople differ by about 50 feet. If you want my measurements you can contact me through this website.

The course was well mowed and litter free.
A few holes have moderate length and many are reachable in two.
Holes 4 and 5 (according to the pictures) have some decent lines to hit, with some tall grass rough.
Chances of losing a disc are minimal here.
Good place to work on your short game and rounds should play quickly.
Good place to play safari golf if you so desired.

There are no tees, signs, or numbers on the baskets. Also no map so knowing how this course plays is anyones guess.
Wind will often times be a factor during your round and during the summer months it could get hot here as most holes don't offer much for shade.
Also there are no benches or trash cans.

This course feels a bit incomplete in that there aren't any tees so basically its pick a spot and throw to a basket. I found the closest basket to the parking lot and played the course in a clockwise manner. However there is some potential here. If some trees where to be planted on the more open holes it would make this course a bit more interesting. The addition of signage or numbers on the basket would help to lessen the confusion here a bit and at least give a rough guide as to how the course was intended to be played.
Its nice to see a lake offer its guests another activity but they missed the mark a bit on this one. Not a must play by any means but a good break from the lake if you were in the area.

Great course for beginners or if you're already at the lake and you want to get some practice in. It didn't look like there was much to work with within this area but the designer/s used what they had and it does a nice job of flowing back into itself and none of the fairways cross or overlap each other.
For the most part, this is a clean cut course with no trash. A little rough here and there to keep you honest.
Not busy at all so you could change it up and play it backwards if you wanted. Who knows, maybe I've been playing it backwards all along....

....I had to jump in on the closest hole to where I parked, on the east side of the recreation area. I am not sure if this is hole #1 or not but it seemed like a good place so I started there. There is absolutely ZERO signage anywhere so it's hard to tell where this course starts or ends.
There are no tee signs/boxes/markers or anything to throw from. Basket to basket is the only way right now.
Most of this course is wide open and not very challenging.
Not worth paying for the day pass if you just want to try out the course but I guess if you frequent the lake enough and already have a Kansas State Park pass, it's ok.
Driving through the rest of Lovewell State Park, I thought it would have GREAT potential for a 18 hole course but keeping this short 9er in the boring box of the park is kind of a let down.

It would be really cool to get a course that goes out and around the camping areas and over parts of the lake but seeing as these areas are packed with people,boats,cars, trucks and campers a few months out of the year, that might not work well. For now this little guy will be safely tucked away in it's own little area of Lovewell to be enjoyed by new players and seasoned players like me who want to get some short game practice in or warm up on the way up to Lost Creek. Like I've said before, any course is better than no course and I've played WAY worse.
