Pros:

Three numbered DISCatcher baskets in the field behind the school building. The baskets are basically in a line, allowing you to throw out and back.

While this is really just a practice area, there is definitely some potential to create a safari layout. If I lived in one of the nearby neighborhoods and couldn't drive, this would probably be where I went to play.

There are a few soccer fields nearby where you can practice some field work. Still probably not enough room to really air a Driver out, but still a good place to work on form. If you throw towards the basket from the fields, you get a nice little uphill shot. Otherwise there is no real elevation to contend with here.

Cons:

There is no real distinguishable course here. Just a practice area. There are no tee signs, and it is likely students play to the first basket from somewhere near the school, then play the next hole by teeing off from the last basket.

There are no restrooms or water to access, and all of the same common issues associated with a school course.

Other Thoughts:

If you live close by and want to give your children a chance to experience the game, this would be a good place to do so. If you just want a place to practice your putts or speed control on approaches, you can do that here. For anything else, or if you are looking for a real course to play - you'll likely need to look elsewhere. For these reasons I can't justify giving this anything higher than a 0.0 rating.

Three at McKee

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 23, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

McKee Road Elementary School has three disc golf baskets in the ground! Wait. You want more info?
- We're reviewing 3 baskets in a straight line in a field behind the school building. This is a place that doesn't need to be reviewed. The picture tell you everything.
- The baskets are each spaced about 175 feet from each other. I threw from one basket to the next, turned around and played back again. I played 5 holes and was back in my truck in four minutes.
- For the purpose of this being built for elementary school kids, the baskets are useful. You can line the kids up in circles around the baskets and have them firing away.
- For the more experienced players, this is a place to practice putting and mid-range shots.

Cons:

It's a practice area. Key word is practice. If you're looking for more than that, why?
- I've seen no indication that anyone's made this a course. Maybe someone has made his/her own layout on UDisc. But in terms of visible markings that this is a 'course', there are none.
- If it's intended to be played sequentially, tee areas could be better defined.
- I realized if I throw a disc sky high, and I take off on a light run, I can almost reach the basket before the disc lands. If I had running shoes on and not boots, I may have been able to reach the basket before my disc.

Other Thoughts:

You're coming to this course to either practice, mark it off your list, or let the kids play on the playground. Only one of those will be a productive use of your time.
- I saw people running on the track at the school. They're taking advantage of the facilities here. You can too.
- You're most likely going to have the baskets to yourself. At the very least, you're not having to share a basket with too many others.
- This is right around the corner from my parents' house, about a third of a mile walk in a straight line. If the baskets were here when I was growing up, I'd have been here way too much. Today, this is a most likely a one-and-done visit the day after Thanksgiving for me.
