Pros:

Nice baskets. Restroom on site. Not crowded. baskets are numbered. Very beginner friendly

Cons:

No tees or signs whatsoever. almost no variety of shots required. not much in the way of obstacles used. totally flat.

Other Thoughts:

This is the strangest course I've ever seen. It looks like the designer (and I use the term loosely) had never seen DG or played. The baskets are almost all just sitting out in the open area of the park. As best I can tell you play from beside each basket to the next basket. Stand beside 1 and throw to 2 then from 2 to 3 etc. I played number 1 from number 2 but you could actually play number 1 basket from # 18. navigation is actually easy since the baskets are all numbered. There is some variety of length but all holes are between 150 and 250 feet I believe. A tree can come into play on a few holes but it's mostly wide open. Not any kind of challenge for an experienced player. It is a good place to practice and would actually be ideal for a total beginner or maybe younger kids. Multi use so you can take the family and practice

Pros:

Had nice baskets and they are marked with the hole number.

Cons:

There are a few tee pads, they are withing 30 ft of the last holes basket in most cases
No tee signs at all

Other Thoughts:

Where do I start?

No indication of where to tee off for hole one. I actually parked in the wrong spot and started on hole 2, so I played hole one from near 18's basket.

Longest hole is about 200ft, actually just about every hole is 200 ft. Not a lot of variation here.

In fact, baskets for 1, 3 and 17 are within 40 ft of each other with the tee pad for 18 in between.

The park has a few trees, but they really don't play a part of the course at all, maybe on one or two holes.

From talking to a local player, this is the only area the city would allow, so back and forth with holes basically on top of each other we go.

If it were up to me, I would take out 1/2 of the baskets and put in a better 9 hole layout using the tree's out there. It does not have to be a great course but anything is better than this.

I rated it 1/2 a star because I have seen worse believe it or not.

Passable begginer course.... sort of. 2+ years

Pros:

*New baskets
*Safe neighborhood
*Well manicured and clean with plenty of trash cans
*You won't be attacked by a Bear here.
*No escaped Mental patients from an asylum and that's it for the pros.

Cons:

*No obstacles used in the design and even though there were trees available, they were not incorporated in the design.
*Super short
*the same shot over and over. To play it the way it was
designed you tee off for hole 1 while standing next to 2s basket. You will notice 4s basket is about 10 ft. to the left of 2s basket and 6 is 10 ft. to the left of 4s basket and repeat until hole 14 on that side. When you finish Hole 1 you notice the basket for hole 3 in about 10 ft. to the right of 1s basket and repeat until hole 13. So you go back and forth and back and forth. If you caught someone on video playing this course, you would surely have them doing it to the theme song to the Benny Hill Show. The only reason this madness stops at 14 is because of a ditch. The last 4 holes are set up just like the first 14 except that they are on the other side of the ditch.

Other Thoughts:

This was a disappointing course in my opinion, if you really want to call it one. I am not suggesting that it shouldn't be listed on this site. Just that it probably won't get too many people hooked on Disc Golf. In fact it might make someone think that Disc Golf is a bore or just downright silly. Not trying to be mean or degrade whomever installed the baskets and brought the course into existence,it's just sad that they were not a disc golfer because the Shreveport/Bossier area doesn't get a new course very often at all. In fact, C. Bickham Dickson was the first since the 1980s. Clyde Fant, Highland and Ford park were all existing Frisbee Golf courses in the early 80s and were converted to Disc golf some time later. Guess it is better than nothing.

Clean, quiet, no frills 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 10, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

*nice baskets
*clean park
*easy to navigate
*family friendly throwing

Cons:

*very few designated tees, no signage other than basket #'e
*holes are very near to each other, this could be a safety issue if the course were crowded
*#18 is throwing directly at a playground
*not much shot shaping, you can play this course with a mid and a putter.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course in cold, extremely wet, and windy conditions. Even though much of the course was flooded, footing was still reasonable near the baskets to tee off (you play this course throwing from basket to basket). The baskets are numbered and you can only read the number from the previous basket - I was very surprised at how well this worked for course navigation. This is not a championship layout, but it would be a fun place to play with the family.
