Antelope valley disc golf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 7, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Another disc golf course! Well layed out with good signage, directional arrows even at alternate pins. A putting circle marked from 15-50 ft by the first tee. Very few players on course.

Cons:

Lack of substantial foliage. Very few players to compete against. Need base access to play.

Other Thoughts:

I have seen some reviews on the course and agree with the majority. There are several mandatories on the course created to add difficulty to the landscape. Great use of the undulating hills and man made obstacles to increase the challenge. Hole 6 is a circle made of haybales to create an island effect and although not long can be intimidating. The most technical hole is hole 10 which wraps around the running track with a fairway 60 foot wide that lasts for 730 feet. Few holes are that narrow for that long. The double mandatory on hole 9 right off the tee is created IMO to force a turnover shot for the right handed thrower to the basket on the right, in the straight ahead position it doesn't really come into play. Hole 18 is a picture frame hole or a quadruple mandatory 90 feet away that is a straight shot off the tee not too difficult but can mess with your mind. I've highlighted these few holes because these are the man made obstacle holes. This course is less than 2 years old, alot of work has been done and this gem in the desert can only get better.
