4 park disc golf? Alright sure!

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 16, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a brand new course for 2022. It's a very unique course in that it uses 4 different parks. The first 5 holes start out on Mayor's park then you walk across the street to Smith park and play an open hole near the train tracks but that's where things get a little weird. The next hole is different depending in which layout your throwing; there's an 11 hole layout which avoids the long walk outs and other 2 parks. You can stay on Smith park and walk towards the last holes of the course which are in the same park. If you want to play the full 18 you walk down the street to the 4 way intersection and on the corner there you will see a hill and some baskets, hole 7 or "A" as is spray painted on the cement next to the side walk. It's labeled by letters instead of numbers until it hooks back up with the 11 hole layout and the numbers come back. After hole "C" you walk up Center St until you see an open gate and baskets in a field, here is holes C, D, and E. After E you will cross over a little wooden bridge and walk up the road until you see the baseball field and the course continues from here. If you do get lost you can use that 'other' app to help you out and don't forget to follow the arrows to the next pad built into the baskets.

Cons:

The long walk outs are a pain in the behind. We tried doing it by car and parking near the next park and you can do it that way if you want but you still have to walk back to the car which isn't easy either but suit yourself. You can always play the 11 hole layout if you don't like walking so I guess it's not that bad of a con. You could also just play a section of the course you like over and over instead.

There is a lack of obstacles and punishment for bad throws. Even with a terrible drive I found myself getting up and down for par pretty easy. Many of the holes out here especially in the back 9 or ABC's are really wide open and boring.

Tee pads aren't really in yet just a pink flag or blue spray paint with the letter or number on them in the ground. They plan on being in sometime soon, perhaps next year but they are hard to find right now. I didn't have a problem with grip or anything like though.

Other Thoughts:

I feel like Dane did his best here with the land given and really like the alternative layout for those who don't want 1000 foot walk outs. He's got a great private course in Sugar City/Salem that's not listed here (by his request so don't add it here) but listed on the other app I won't mention the name of, U gotta figure it out yo' self! He also has a shop on site there as well and not far from his course and I highly recommend checking it out and give him your support.
