A beginner's course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 7, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets: all stable, in great condition and well maintained.

Directions: From the moment you enter the farm facility the course is well signed. Follow the clear, oval, green markers to the course carpark and then onwards to the course.

Course Map: At the start of the course is s well presented map. It's pretty self explanatory however, to make sure I suggest taking a photo before you tee off.

Cons:

Tees: The tees are well presented and well signed but, being natural grass tees some will be horrendous in wet weather as they are at 45 degree angles (especially holes 4, 5 & 9).

Variety of holes: If you are looking for a course which has a variety of different holes which will challenge all areas of your game, then this is not the course for you. This course is set in a field, with sporadic trees. The grounds to this Farm complex have wooded areas galore. It's a shame the course wasn't able to optimise more than 1 field.

Other Thoughts:

Before I describe the holes, please remember this course is designed as a beginner's course so all the holes are relatively short.

Hole 1: A good starter hole, which allows players to practice straight throws without obstruction or to loosen up after a long journey.

Hole 2: A downhill hole, with OB fence on your right hand side. A lone tree guards the basket.

Hole 3: A longer hole, back across the slope of the field. A small group of bushes near to the basket could give an obstructed view for your approach if you have a wayward teeshot.

Hole 4: A downhill, dogleg hole. The basket is protected by a large post. Roll aways are extremely likely here.

Hole 5: Firstly watch your footing. This hole plays straight down the slope. In the wet this could be a very dangerous tee pad. I should point out I really enjoyed this hole as it is a chance to open up and throw a bit further. You can also see baskets 5-9 From this tee so there is the option for a safari hole if you wish.

Hole 6: An obstructed tee shot, which plays across a n OB area. The post to the right of the tee pad stops the large hyzer shot. The basket is protected by a big bush. This is a querky hole.

Hole 7: A straight shot back across the field. In a few years the tree next to the tee could create a low ceiling, but currently this is an easy shot to the basket

Hole 8: This hole plays across the slope, but had more camber than the previous 2 holes. The basket is behind a bush and on a slight angle.

Hole 9: This is a tough hole. It plays straight back up the hill. Trust me when I say it's steeper than it looks. A big arm is needed here to get close, however an eagle is available if you can

Hole 10: After the slog up the hill, this hole gives you a chance to relax. No obstacles or slope to worry about. Just a nice straight shot.

Hole 11: Another uphill shot here, this time protected by a large group of bushes. Accuracy is essential here, however if you are tired from the hills it may not be that easy.

Hole 12: A long straight shot needed here. OB is close behind the basket and there are a couple of trees to be aware of too.

Hole 13: A nice short uphill shot to finish. It is definitely longer than it appears and is a good closing hole

Other things to be aware of. Some of the holes on this course share baskets so be aware if you playing on a busy day you will need to be aware of other players.
Also all the holes are really well mowed, but stray off the mowed area and you could find yourself in a lot of difficulty.
