fun course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 31, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Long holes, short grass, cement teepads, challenging course with the sidewalk or over and timber being counted as out of bounds. Hole 8 is the most challenging hole i have played but i have only played a handful of courses.

Cons:

Timber will swallow your disc. i lost 2 disc the first round, very thick timber short teepads. Hard course for beginners with so many out of bounds. But they said they needed a few challenging holes since they don't have many obstacles in the fairway. Most of the course is hilly and blind shots to the basket with not a lot of trees in the way.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course to play. I wouldn't make a special long trip to play but if in the area I would recommend playing it.

Pros:

Concrete tees, Discatchers, and informative signs.
- 9 or 10 holes 400ft plus.
- many bomber holes
- Easy to navigate
- Course plays on beautiful rolling hills.
- Thick tree line and rough border many fairways making for unnerving drives.
- Concrete walking trail runs down the middle of course making for interesting and challenging OB.
- Length of course and rolling hills make for a great workout.
- Water hydrants by tee pads 6 and 14.
- Not much traffic on course when we played on a Sunday afternoon.

Cons:

Very open with very few obstacles to shape shots.
- Tee post signs butt up to concrete on backside of tees. At first a little unnerving but later not really an issue.
- Concrete tee pads follow the contour of the rolling hills resulting in an unlevel throwing surface.
- Many blind baskets.
- Many of the bomber holes were up and over hills to blind baskets.
- Turf was a little shaggy the day we played.
- Do not go into tree line rough- it is ugly.
- No shade trees by tees.
- Though course is easy to navigate the trek from 18 to 1 is about a quarter mile.

Other Thoughts:

Knowing that this course is new I really don't see much room for maturity or improvement. I believe it will look and play the same 10 years from now. At first glance I was really excited to play this course with the opportunity to air it out many times. But my excitement was hampered by the unlevel tee pads and the numerous up hill drives. Not sure if I will play this course again with Graceland being only 30 mi south and Pickard 25 mi to the north.
