Pros:

This course plays on someone's personal property, and they offer the course up free to play. I am having a hard time thinking of another course that is free and plays on someone's land. The owner of the land even has a pro shop on site.

There are two tees on each hole. The course has classic central Texas trees throughout. There is a small creek that sometimes has water in it and creates a little bit extra risk/reward and challenge.

Hole 6 was a neat hole and my favorite hole on the course. It is wide open with markers every 100 feet, but then it gets tight next to the basket. A 3 isn't guaranteed here. I also really enjoyed Hole 9. It is an island hole that is short enough and the island is large enough where most players should make it more than half of the time. It still adds a little bit of pucker and fun. Island holes can be done incorrectly, but this is an example of one done right.

Cons:

Personal opinion (not sure why I need to say that; all reviews are opinions): Prodigy baskets are just the worst. They have heavy chains and don't seem to catch great. This course has them, but if you like them then put this in the pros and bump this review up .5 or so.

I felt the front half of the course were all very similar. They all seemed to lack a real line to the basket without just chunking and praying. The distances on the tee signs seem a smidgen too short from their actual length.

There is not too much variety on the two different tees, in some cases the alternate tee was literally just the same shot with an addition of 10 feet.

Other Thoughts:

I applaud the owner of this land for opening it up for free for everyone to play. It shows a real love for the game and #growthesport, (am I doing it right, guys?)

I had an average amount of fun here. Nothing to egregious, but nothing special at all. I am not sure what could be done to improve, but it definitely is not the "Fun 9 holer in the country." Still, it may be worth checking out if you are in the area - it plays fairly quickly, be sure to check in though!

Fun 9 holer in the country 2+ years drive by

Pros:

This is not your standard 9 holer (or 18 if you play from the alternate tee boxes). There's a little creek, tight fairways, and well placed pins. The pro shop is also well stocked and the owner is very friendly.

Cons:

I wish it were longer and had more elevation. Hard to think of cons when someone makes a course on their land and lets you play it for free :).

Other Thoughts:

I should have saved some cash to pick up new plastic while I was there. Since my in laws live 10 minutes away, I will be back!!!
