Good For Family Gatherings 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The course is in a nice, small, park with a lake, playground, bathrooms, and pavilions. It was very easy to find, right off of highway 43.

The course is an out and back style, so you start and finish close to the parking lot. The tee markers are clear and in good shape. The DGA Mach 2 baskets aren't "high end" baskets, but do a pretty good job of catching putts. They are all in excellent shape.

The course makes use of the rolling hills that it sits on. There is only a slight chance of losing discs. The holes should lend themselves well to newer players as the holes are mostly short and open.

Would be an excellent place for family outings.

Cons:

It's only six holes. The tee areas are natural grass and the ground hasn't been leveled in any way, so your stance can be less than ideal on several holes. A couple of the baskets are leaning significantly.

The course is very short with just one 300' hole. The course is also totally wide open with the exception of the trees that run parallel to most fairways on one side. This means that there's little to no shot shaping required.

Other Thoughts:

Take Patsy Hillman for what it is. It's a nice park that would be ideal for picnicking with family and friends. Then you could introduce the game to new players. If you skipped #4-5, and just played 4 holes, almost everyone, young, old, etc. could manage to play them as the elevation change isn't drastic and the loop would be quite short.

If the park and course aren't busy you could easily create some fun Safari holes. The lake, for example, isn't in play at all. But you could easily make holes that tee off from the far side of the lake if you wanted. You could also just make longer holes as the course layout/grounds would allow for some long bombers if you like.

Did I enjoy myself? Sure, I was playing disc golf. Would I play here if it was close to home? Sure, it would be good practice. Will I actually play here again? Very unlikely. It's just not worth going out of the way to play unless you want to bag a course.

I appreciate that the course was put in and hope that it does well in introducing new players to our awesome sport.

Pros:

The course at Patsy Hillman Park offers a quick six-hole recreational round. To get to the course, follow the road that wraps around the lake until you get to the parking area at the end near a small playground and pavillion. Apparently, this was an Eagle Scout project, which is pretty cool. It's nicely set away from other park activities and loops right back to where you start. While the nearby lake doesn't come into play, it helps provide a peaceful setting.

Being only six holes, the course plays through a single large field that sits between the road and a patch of woods. The best attribute of the land you play on is the gently rolling hills, and the course makes good use of that with two downhill shots and an uphill hole. Five of the six holes incorporate the elevation changes in some way. Even though the holes play near each other, they're a safe distance from each other unless some throws really get crazy.

If you're looking for a super quick round to rack up birdies and ace runs, this is your place. Rounds should take most people no more than 15 minutes.

Tee signs and baskets are in great shape. There is also a nice sign explaining disc golf.

Cons:

Being only six holes doesn't help, but I'm guessing this is the only section of the park they were allowed to put baskets in. No obstacles to contend with other than not hitting any trees that sometimes border the fairways.

Since this is a recreationally-minded course, the holes are short and all are 300' or less. I don't have a big arm at all, and I found myself driving past the basket by mistake often.

This isn't quite the best area, although the park itself seemed fine.

Just a heads up that the bathrooms were locked even in early June when I played.

Other Thoughts:

Since there isn't much in the immediate area, this course is nice to have to introduce new people to the sport. These short courses are tough to rank, however. All things considered, the scout did a great job using the small patch of land provided. Just nothing exciting here when comparing on the grand DGCR scale. This is Timg's world, people.

I'd come throw here often if I lived close by for a quick couple of rounds, but probably won't go out of my way to play here again.
