Pitch and Putt with Verticality 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 19, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Elevation is a large factor on 7 holes, 2,3,4,&5 play uphill and 7,8,&9 play downhill.

Some larger trees in play.

Nice to have a course in this general area.

Discatcher baskets.

Downloadable map.

Flag on top of basket 7 to show location of an otherwise hidden basket.

Cons:

Short holes, 70'ish to 160'ish.

Not much shot shaping required.

Brush can hide discs, doesn't appear to be anyone performing course maintenance as of this writing.

Hidden roll away potential, especially on the three downhill holes.

Dirt tees.

Mobility challenged players may have issues with the slope.

Other Thoughts:

Not sure who this course was designed for, the fairly steep elevation changes do not make it very beginner friendly and the short length isn't much of a challenge for experienced players.

There is an option to hike up the dirt road to start on hole 6 or 7 rather than down the asphalt road to hole 1.

A spotter on semi-blind downhill hole 7 would be a plus if you are playing with others.

This course doesn't have much of a fun factor for me and I'm a big fan of elevation changes. The slope is too steep for optimal disc golfing. I think it would have been better to design the holes to play back and forth across the slope instead of up and down. With a road/path from the parking lot to both the top and bottom of the hill, the course does not need to loop back to the starting area. It could have played either up the hill or down the hill across the slope.

When playing most pitch and putt 9-hole courses I like to go around at least twice each visit. Once around this course was enough the two times I have stopped.
