Gold Alternate Layout Is Best 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 27, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Gold Alternate layout has some variety: 4 hyzer shots, 3 anhyzer (or sidearm) shots, 2 straight shots, 2 about 300 ft, 1 over 400 ft. Open and not-so-open holes. Out-of-bounds makes it more challenging. Good Innova Discatcher baskets. Restrooms available. Swimming pool available in summer.

Cons:

No tee pads. Flat terrain. Multi-use park. No tee signs.

Other Thoughts:

For a right-handed player:
Hole 1. Straight shot between some trees.
Hole 2. Low ceiling hyzer, or big hyzer.
Hole 3. Anhyzer or sidearm over the O.B. road.
Hole 4. Low hyzer or big hyzer over the trees.
Hole 5. Short hyzer, aceable, 225'.
Hole 6. Hyzer shot, 255'.
Hole 7. Anhyzer shot, 290'.
Hole 8. Sidearm shot, 240'.
Hole 9. Straight or hyzer, 410'

Home of the DAWGS 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a good beginner/intermediate style course. Its in a well maintained park that plays around the park and the NW side of the high school.
The park and grounds are well maintained and there are other ameities here like a swimming pool, restrooms, and a playground.
Rounds should play quickly here.
There are multiple tees and pin placement to mix things up and offer a different look.
The first 3 holes had lines to be shaped and 9 was nice finishing hole.
There is a good mix of short and moderate length holes here as well.
There is also a practice basket.

Cons:

Some of the tee areas share space with the parking lot by the swimming pool, (see 1 and 4) and may not be usable during certain times of the year.
A couple of holes are close to other ameneites (see 9 which is close to the playground and bull pen of the baseball field) extra caution is advised here.
The addition of signage would be beneficial to help mark the tee areas. Right now look for the pink flags to tee off from. Hopefully in the future signage is coming.

Other Thoughts:

Its nice to see a small town install a nice little 9 hole course to try to introduce more players to the game. This course has an advantage that it is close to a school were students could utilize it and hone there skills. I think if some trees were planted on some of the interior holes like 4-8 if would help make things a bit more challenging. There are some new trees on hole 5 but they will take a while to mature.
This would be a good place to take the family out and spend some quality time enjoying a round. More advanced players can use this course to tune up their midrange game.
Overall a nice 9 in a small town give it a play if you are passing through or are close.
