Pretty Decent Small Town Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 30, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

I found the baskets to be quite good and every tee had a 9' cement pad and a good tee sign. The signs included distance. Other info is overlayed on a photo. The designers were smart to outline some OB for the course to make it a bit more challenging.

Cons:

A few of the holes come close to equipment and other activities in the park. The streets in the area aren't real wide and could see some errant discs in yards across from the park.

Other Thoughts:

I've seen quite a few smaller town parks on my journey to play all the courses in Kansas and this one is quite good.

Not just a pitch and putt 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well kept park that plays around the unused areas of school grounds as well as the city park. Tee pads are plenty long and the signage is adequate as well.
The MD baskets catch well.
Good use of obstacles both natural and man made.
Good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
Has some holes with Ace Run potential.
Rounds should play fairly quickly. There are other amenities here like restrooms, playground equipment etc.

Cons:

A few holes might get dicey depending on what activities were going on in the park. Holes 1-3 will have to contend with baseball/softball fields and track discus area.
Holes 5 and 6 might see a disc or two go across the street into a neighbor's yard.
No trashcans or benches, not a big con but some people like having that option.
The streets on the right hand side of holes 7 and 9 might see an errant throw or two.

Other Thoughts:

This course provides you with the opportunity to work on several aspects of your game. There are some safety concerns but if you play when the park isn't busy you should be OK. You are going to have to focus on your control here and be aware of your surroundings before you throw. Aside from the above mentioned concerns the golf here is still challenging and fun.
I could easily see the students from the nearby school using this course during their Physical Education classes. Not a destination course but another option for disc golf in the Southeast KS quadrant.
