I started on hole 2 this round and went OB when I didn't realize it was there. This got in my head, plus playing the entire round with another player made it difficult since he kept losing his temper.<br />
<br />
Ended up being roughly 7 strokes higher than I should have been after only the first 4 holes, I sort of got my head back together after that, but the damage was done and high enough to be difficult to come back from.<br />
<br />
I dropped to 17th after this round.

After 2 drives I was pin high and about 30 feet out for a possible 3, but apparently the gravel/grass faded road I was on was OB, so I had to take a lie back where it was last in bounds. Laid up, putt, and took a circle 5 rather than a possible 3.

After the last hole and being mad at myself for not knowing the OB, I played this hole poorly. Drive went over water but far right. Lay up, lay up that skipped under the basket and into the water for OB. Putt to finish with another circle 5.

Played it safe, but my second shot cut in short and went into a thick bush. Had to do a 15' putt out to a safe spot to save a 5, but almost made it in 4, since the approach from there almost went in.

Ridiculous anhyzer drive went around trees, turned over on edge and rolled along hill crest past the silver towards the red basket, and finally turned over on it's top to land on the left hillside pin high. Went for the putt, missed, and went downhill.

This was hands down my best singles round I've ever played... let alone a tournament round! Absolutely nothing stupid, carding no bogies, and I hit no trees this entire round!<br />

I was very pleased with my performance, since this round put me 6th out of 48. If those 3 putts that hit chains and fell out had stayed in... I would have been in a tie for 2nd (and would have hit -8!). I was starting this tournament off strong, consistent, and confident.
