Great little short course

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 18, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Easy to find tee #1
Very easy to navigate whole course
Lots of elevation gain/loss
Excellent signage
Pretty area
Great use of the terrain
Several challenging shots thru trees
#18 takes you back to your car
Discs for rent or sale, food & drink nearby

Cons:

Short holes
Not too much variation in shots

Other Thoughts:

I don't throw long shots, but I'm pretty accurate so I love the short courses. This is one of my favorites because I also deeply appreciate easy navigation. Since the drives range from 180' to around 250' you can see what you're shooting at nearly every basket. I'm an an average, middle-aged, female disc golfer, so this is practially a perfect course to work on level, accurate shots. I had two pars (okay, maybe I'm a little below average LOL). I think the course could still be challenging for an intermediate player because you do have to chuck it pretty straight through a few narrow tree tunnels. The low review here skews how nice this course is. I wasn't expecting much and was very pleasantly surprised. Unless you are pro, you'll probably enjoy it as a par three course. Pretty drive, too, and a few glimpses of Lake O from the course.

Not that great... drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 27, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Short course near camping areas.

Cons:

Hole #s 1 & 2 are horribly grown up and discs could easily get lost. The fairways are too tight.
My nephew, the perpetual newbie, struggled mightily with the tight fairways and he was obviously frustrated.
Not technically difficult. Even if you hit a tree off of the tee it was very easy to make a three.

Other Thoughts:

This definitely is not a destination course. Passable, if you want to tick off as many Arkansas courses that you can. #1 and #2 really need to be cleaned up. It makes no sense to have that mess of weeds, bushes, shrubs, etc at any point of the course. Gave the wrong impression right at the start. Some trees need to be removed to make the fairway more playable. I like wooded courses but it seemed underdesigned. I have played courses all over the country and this ranks pretty low.

Fun pitch and putt in the mountains

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 19, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Cement Tee Pads
Great DD tee signs with hole map and distance listed
Great course flow
Great use of elevation and shot shaping.

Cons:

It's not a long course, it is family friendly though.

Other Thoughts:

I think it is worth the drive from Hot Springs to play this little gem of a course. it's not the most challenging as far as distance. But it is a heavy wooded course with lots of elevation on several of the holes.

About 1/2 way though my round I abandoned my cart, it was just too hard to lug it up and down those rocky fairways.

only one hole is over 300ft, meaning most seasoned players can reach every hole. it's a matter of throwing the right line.

That is one of the great things about this course, it has great lines to the basket from the tee. Not just throw and pray. This is a true shot shaping hole course. You hit the line, you are looking at the 2, miss it and you can still scramble for that 3. Other than in a few spots, there isn't much rough, just lots of tree's.

oh, I should mention, they do have discs and drinks for sale in the camp store just a block past the course. There are also nice public restrooms across the street from the store you can use. (they are hard to find, ask and they can point them out to you)

Would I play here again? yes, I would love to play this course, specially a tournament. I love my classic roc's and this course was made for them.

LOL, Normally I would not do this, Condor is my "down vote" Just read his review and mine. I happen to love courses like this, apparently he does not like them. YOU NEVER REMOVE TREE'S TO BUILD A COURSE. Sorry, I just had to put that out there. I stated the course was family friendly as a whole, not based on the first 2 holes. Yea, there are a lot of tree's and you are going to hit some playing this course.
