Pros:

Sherwood Lake DGC is located in a small park/campground next to little Sherwood Lake. The course is all fairly short. There are two sets of nicely framed up gravel tees on every hole except 5 I believe it was. These were all really well done for gravel tees. They were all packed down nicely and very level. The pins are Kingpins I guess. Not a bad basket but not the greatest either. The cages are bright yellow to make spotting them easy. They caught decent too. The flow of the course is very easy to navigate. It's all set up in a pretty small area but it doesn't seem to overlap any fairways. Hole five features a mando on the left side of the fairway with a drop zone (yellow brick) at the base of the mando tree to add a little challenge to an otherwise pretty bland 160ish foot hole. The tee signs are of the standard variety around here (Wildwood, North Park, Braem etc.) consisting of a 4x4 post with the hole number on it. They have a 6x6 inchish top board with a basic hole layout and distance routered into the top. No pars on these unlike the other nearby courses but these should all be considered par 3's for even intermediate level players. There is either red or white painted on the top of the poles dictating whether it's the rec or pro pad. Whites being pro tees and reds as the rec tees. The course is free to play, in year round (though I'm not sure if the park is open year round), and will never be busy. There's a very well done course map and a basic disc golf rules and ettiquite sign by hole 1 and a practice basket just across the road.

Cons:

There's nothing real long distance wise here. I think around 300' from the long tees on 3 and 4 I believe it was. The Kingpin baskets are decent some already have some pretty rusted chains. It hasn't even been in a year so these things aren't gonna last. Even if they're removed in winter. The course is still rough around the edges. Lots of tripping hazards with stumps and recently cut underbrush. The course plays along the edge of a marsh area, especially by holes 2 through 4, so it can be a bit swampy. With it being by a swamp and a lake I would imagine that the bugs are pretty bad in the summer. It is WI so this should be expected and isn't a con moreso a heads up.

Other Thoughts:

This course is really in the middle of nowhere. If you're in the area it's worth a couple rounds I suppose. Why anybody that doesn't live near here would be in the area is anyone's guess. It's about a 40 minute drive for me from Marshfield so I'll hardly ever even play this one. With that being said it's still a fun little course. I doubt, in fact I know, that it will never be busy so you'll have the course to yourself. Pair it with North Park and it's a super fun day of golf. Good addition to the area and a really well designed course for the available land.
