Average park course 2+ years drive by

Pros:

I applaud the scout who did this for their Eagle Project. All six of the holes have sponsors, the tee signs are nicely made and the baskets are decent. A lot of research, planning and funding went into getting the necessary equipment to make this course happen, and it is impressive that a high schooler could pull this off. There are way finding signs once you enter the park on where the disc golf starts, which is really awesome to see in such a big park.

Spring Creek Park has a lot going on it, but the course is tucked away from all of the other activities in the park, so you will not have to worry about hitting an unsuspecting park patron. Navigation is not an issue at all on the course and ther is ample parking near hole 1.

Some of the holes were pretty decent. Though most fall below 350', hole 5 actually has a tremendous amount of skill needed to try and get a 2. It is a bit of a tunnel shot with water on one side and thick foliage on the other. It is a big risk/reward type hole.

Cons:

The biggest con to me is the lack of excitement or unique holes. The course is only six holes and besides hole five, there are very few obstacles getting in the way and not long enough distances in most cases to add any challenge.

I know there is opportunity for more wooded holes at this park, but I am sure based on this being an eagle project, there was not an opportunity or skill level to think through more wooded holes.

Hole 4's tee sign is slightly off and pointed the wrong direction to where the basket is. I totally messed it up and threw the wrong direction when I played the hole.

Other Thoughts:

Nine times out of 10, baskets are better than no baskets, and this is one of those nine times. The course will not test your every skill, but it is nice to have in a park that could have used a course for years.

I could see this course being used by families, which is definitely necessary to introduce people to the sport. I applaud the scout who made this happen, there are no real glaring cons that would make me persuade you to not play the course.
