9 Hole Course For Guests Of The Mountain Top Inn & Resort Only! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course at the Mountain Top Inn starts over near the horse corral. There are laminated tee signs attached to sticks. The tee signs give you the distance, hole number and par. The tee pads are very small temporary mats, like door mats. A couple are slightly grown over with grass. The baskets are the cheap, temporary Discatcher Sport Target model with a single chain. They can be moved about quite easily.

The first six holes play around the perimeter of a large grassy field, which I believe is sometimes used for some kind of steeplechase competition or practice. At least, that's what those jumps are for.

There is a lovely view of the resort with the lake glistening in the sun behind it from the highest point on the course, which is the # 2 basket area.

The holes lengths are mostly around 200' and open. There are almost no trees in this field. Then you walk across the entry road to play 7-9. # 7 is a short fun 175', Ace throw downhill to a basket set by the tennis courts. Then you finish with two longer holes on a large field below the people dining on the deck. I don't they were paying much attention to this old guy throwing frisbees across lawn below them. They probably where I had escaped from?

Cons:

Tiny mat tee pads.

Course apparently is for resort guests only.

Cheap single chain baskets.

I assume this is a summer only course.

Fairly unimaginative layout.

Other Thoughts:

If I'm building this course for my resort guests, I would make it about half as long. Just give them the idea of disc golf. Make them throw around a couple of trees. No open 300 foot bombs in the wind. No treacherous forest rough to contend with like they have now on # 4.The current layout ends up being quite a hike for being only a 9 hole course.

Beautiful course with great views! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 10, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The views are fantastic! You can see the lake from much of the course.
The layout is great.
The signs on the top of each basket point you to the next tee.
Very well maintained by the resort.

Cons:

Somewhat short holes, but that can be a Pro as well...

Other Thoughts:

The guy at the resort said they are planning on adding another 9 holes so eventually this will have 18 holes.
All the fairways are in the open so there is little chance to loose your discs. That could make it hot in the summer.
