Pros:

Tiffin Timbers is quite the course. Definitely a unique one, that's for sure. The course plays along the walking trails on thin little strip of land. Only three of the nine holes actually involve the path, those being holes 6, 8 and 9. The course features generous fairways on the more open holes. Hole 7 is a tricky right bending shot through the woods. Definitely the toughest hole on the course.

The tees are just grass. That being said all the tee areas were in great shape. Nothing rutted out or even worn down in the slightest. Nothing special, well nothing at all really, but these are fine for a course like this.

There are tee signs on every hole. Big, bright metal signs that have a nice looking hole map, hole # and distance. More than sufficient. These basically just serve as markers for the tee area since most of the baskets are visible from the tee. Nice looking signs though.

The course is flat, free to play and permanent. The park itself was well maintained and very clean. The course starts and ends pretty close to the parking area too.

Cons:

Let's be honest. These baskets are terrible. They're some heavy chained, homemade marksman style contraptions. They don't catch very good, but they do make you focus on striping the pole. Even then the painted chains are so heavy that doing that isn't a given to get the putt to stick.

In addition to that, discs can fit through the bottom of the cage. Not everywhere in the cage but certain spots. My wife's tap-in from a couple feet away ended up on the ground. I have one fall through the bottom of the cage later in the round too.

Having the walking path that close is not ideal. If you use some common sense this shouldn't be an issue. The problem is not everyone seems to use or even possess common sense. It seems to be a very well used trail by the number of people we saw during the nine holes we played there.

The rough on hole 7 is awful. Not lose a disc awful, but thorny and filled with burning nettles awful. Don't ask me how I know.

Hole 5 is an impossible two as it is now. Unless you can throw a thumber over the tops of the trees.

Other Thoughts:

As awful as the baskets were, I have a weak spot for goofy targets and had a good time playing on them. As a one time thing at least. I probably wouldn't play here very often if I lived nearby. Not worth any kind of trip out of your way to play, but certainly worth a look if you're nearby. Even just for curiousities sake.
