Pros:
Decent mix of holes
Most tee's have turn tee pads
Cons:
This course is maintained by the local golfers, it it hard to keep it up in the summer months. It can get overgrown.
Lack of tee signs
Some of the Turf was just laying on the ground, not level and a trip hazard.
Other Thoughts:
This is a great addition to Elk City. The other course is mostly open and long. Yeti's Forest is a wooded with a good mix of longer holes and a few pitch and putt birdie holes.
The "forest" is also shared with Mountain Bikers. The pro shop is also a bike shop. (although he said something about the retail side closing when I was talking to him, all the bike stuff was on sale when I played the course)
Because of this, you need to watch out on several of the holes as mountain bike trail may cross, or be near the fairways.
There is also a small creek running though the course. It had been raining before I played the course and the water level looked pretty high. Not sure what the normal water flow is. I managed to stay out of it.
While most of the course is heavy wooded with very narrow fairways, there are a couple of open longer shots too.
In general, if the course is in decent shape, it is well worth the stop, and I would play this course over the Lake course.
Would I play here again? Actually yes I would. I really enjoy courses like this. You don't see too many wooded courses in Oklahoma, at least not as tight as this one is. Well worth it. I would probably rate the course higher if the tee's had been in better shape.
