I See a bunch of overhand plays on this hole as well as flicks and backhands. I don't see much in way of scoring separation. Throw the best shot type in your arsenal.
Local course rules note. Ditch beyond hole is OB if disc is covered by water per PDGA rules. If dry beyond ditch, not OB. Parking lot is OB. This applies to 18 also.
Local course rule note: water in ditch is played OB according to PDGA rules. Right of water/ditch, if dry per PDGA rules, no penalty. Over fence is OB.
I hate this hole. It looks easier that it is. Wind is generally a big factor as it's a drive thru a break in the tree line. Plan for a 5-10 mph wind adjustment.
Play for righties is a low gliding backhand skipper. The base of the right tree is located at 5 o'clock 30-40 feet out. I have 3 chain outs and an ace skipping just backside of tree.
There are gaps both right and left, with the left side a touch more forgiving with shots missing the slot. Poke and hope straight players fair worse. I've seen overhand shots too, but left gap still seems to score better on average.
First time players note. There are 2 baskets in line of site of tee. If you are looking at a basket that's just past and over a retention mound and ditch. Then your looking at the practice basket.
