2012: boots bag

thx :)

yeah the zone is a good disc, tried it as a putter but it just never felt right. it was fun while it lasted but gators do me better

My Zone will never be a Putter.I tried it just for fun and it didn't end well :D

I've been using it as a forehand short driver, short tomahawks and get of crap disc.

There is two short holes at the disc golf course near me that I use to anhyzer and now I have full confidence in my forehand for these shots.

I parked one and hit the tree near the end on one.Feels great coming out of the hand.

I just updated my bag as well,If you want check it out and give feedback I would appreciate it.

looks really solid brotha.. iim with you on cutting down molds wherever you can.. that is a lot of putters but hell if it works it works dude  .. and yeah i never really try and putt with the zone but use it for most upshots and love it for lil fh flex shots.. i tried one of the champ glo gators but i got better d from the zone and just felt better in my hand

thanks man. yeah i miss my rr at times but my flippy qj does the same work . as for all the putters, yeah its alot but the rhyno/pure/beat warlock are all drivers. i have driving with a putting putter. i will up shot with them occasionally but if i dont have to i wont. the rhyno might get taken out because i have a gator but not sure yet. granted the rhyno isnt as overstable or fast as the gator. i can take it out if need be. also one of the putting warlocks, newer one,can prob come out too . i kind of want the meteor to come out but i kinda dont. my beat bs buzzz is flippy but not meteor flippy. my qj is as flippy as the meteor but obviously faster. i dunno lol

yeah the Meteor is a hard disc to try and replace and yeah im with you on driving with my putting putters i dont dare do it either lol.. usually have a couple for putting then one main upshot/driving putter.. i guess the zone could count too but really dont consider it a "putter" lol

ok,so ive been playing with this bag set up for a short while now and ive been pretty happy with it. minor changes were i swapped out my seasoned ds for a seasoned fr ds.swapped out my semi fresh spd for a newer run cpd. took out the freshy warlock as it really didnt get used much.

bigger change in the mid department, meteor is out. i had been having probs with the meteor coming out on shots that i didnt power up on. the meteor works great for long turnovers but not for shorter range turnovers that need to hold. with my go to bs buzzz being beat up i can make it do what the meteor does for longer turnovers if i need to. so really the meteor was replaced by that particular buzzz.

so to fill the slot for a slower understable mid,im going to give the mako an audition. feels good and is slow enough that it can hold those shorter range turnovers or annys all the way to the ground.

it will either come to the mako or the fuse for that spot. i already know the fuse so we willl see how the mako fairs. personallly i actually like the way the mako feels more than the fuse.

175 - s/ds star destroyer - beefcake, stiff and overstable
171 - bottom stamp destroyer - semi fresh. lil more stable than the other ds,no real turn, more fade
168 - seasoned first run destroyer - my go to distance, super straight, flex shots etc
169 - beat up pre avery star destroyer - turnovers,my flippy ds for tail wind or distance rollers

172 - cpd (non plus) - control driver..little more stable than the other spd
175 - beat up spd - control driver..when the ds is too much
175 - ce qjls - my longer buzzz - super straight -no fade really
169 - beat ce qjls - flippy flippy - rollers and hard turnovers
173 - pro candy fb - utility

178 - glo buzzz - fresh beef ,my windy day buzzz or when i need some more fade
178 - barstamp buzzz - semi fresh , straight with some fade at the end, more power shots than beat bs
178 - barstamp buzzz - beat up , my go to buzzz. super straight and can be flipped if needed.
180 - fr star mako - trying out for the slower flippy mid
175 - pearly gator - short range utility

2x - 174 proto warlocks -main putters
168 - beat proto warlock - drives on/turnovers where the pure is too stable
176 - opto pure - main driver - my mini buzzz
175 - pearly rhyno - only goes in the bag when its windy,i dont really use it

how are you liking those new run c pds? mine started out pretty beefy and has been beaten in enough where it rides nice and straight but still has that predictable fade at the end. i got on the pd train late and missed out on the cfrs at a cheap rate but these might be one of the best all purpose drivers i've ever thrown.

these are actually pretty nice. not as beefy as i thought. very straight with a nice fade. these fly like my new spds and like my beat up cfr but with more glide. i love em amd i can see it staying in the bag for a long time. i tried the initial first production run cpds that were plus mold,i didnt like those. i hate that slanted rim and for some reason mine were pretty beefy to be what i wanted. so i never really used them and instead i used new spds.

some changes :)

ok so ive decided to take out my beat warlock and replace it with a magic. the warlock ,even though beat up, will still come out of a forced anny unless its very steep and it still has some fade. i bought a magic saturday and threw it sunday and was amazed all over again. even when new,it had a tiny bit of fade but it was much easier to shape lines with and my jump putts were much easier to hold straight al the way. the glide on them is crazy so i barely have to put a little nose up on them and theyll soar.

my mako is still in the bag but its taking a while to get to that understable stage since it has more hss than i anticipated. not a big deal but for what i want, its gonna need some beatings first. all in all, i do like it and the feel of it is easy to grip for me. HOWEVER,for a a nice disc that will hold lines all the way down like the fuse does, its fairly different. im not going to dismiss it yet so we will see over a few more weeks or a month or two.

i took out my beat up pre avery destroyer for now and threw in a beat up std. a little easier to grip and control and it will hold an anny easier than the beat destroyer would. so it may be taking its spot for now.

took the rhyno out, decided that it only will probably come out on some occasions that its windy and i need a putter to handle it.so for the time being, its not in the bag.

i may take out the beat up qjls since i have a beat up std, they both are flippy ,just one is a little faster.

threw in another fr destroyer, not really sure why, back up? lol not really needed but its great for my sidearm since its really flat .

175 - s/ds star destroyer - beefcake, stiff and overstable
171 - bottom stamp destroyer - semi fresh. lil more stable than the other ds,no real turn, more fade
175 - first run destroyer - flat - side arm shots
168 - seasoned first run destroyer - my go to distance, super straight, flex shots etc
168 - beat STD rush - flipper, roller and all around understable goodness.

172 - cpd (non plus) - control driver..little more stable than the other spd
175 - seasoned spd - control driver..very straight with some fade
175 - beat up spd - control driver..2 1/2 years old, my main driver-nice easy flex shots.
175 - ce qjls - my longer buzzz - super straight -no fade really
169 - beat ce qjls - flippy flippy - rollers and hard turnovers (may take out since the td is in now)
173 - pro candy fb - utility

178 - glo buzzz - fresh beef ,my windy day buzzz or when i need some more fade
178 - barstamp buzzz - semi fresh ,straight with some fade at the end, more power shots than beat bs
178 - barstamp buzzz - beat up , my go to buzzz. super straight and can be flipped if needed.
180 - fr star mako - trying out for the slower flippy mid
175 - pearly gator - short range utility

2x - 174 proto warlocks - putting mainly,some upshots occasionally.
172 - sss magic - jump putts and up shots, longer runs at the basket and some drives where needed.
176 - opto pure - best driving putter evar! - my mini buzzz

in most cases - i take out the destroyers and just rock pds since they can go almost as far as my destroyers controllably.

ok. updates again.

im taking out my beefy sds destroyer because it doesnt really come out much since i usually prefer to work something else a little less stable instead.

also looking to pop back in a fresh std/ctd to replace the qjls(just trying out) since i used to use a fresh td for that spot.

mako is out and fuse is in,the fuse is just better fit for that slot i wanted and the mako was overlapping with my beat buzzz.

also scooped up a couple of the new run evo magics, looking to try those out for a driving magic when its too risky to taco my putting magic. we will see if i need it or not.

all in all ,i consider these minor changes. not sure on taking the qj out yet but we will see.

171 - bottom stamp s/ds - semi fresh. lil more stable than the other ds,no real turn unless i force it,more fade than the other two.
175 - first run destroyer - flat - fits right in between both destroyers.
168 - seasoned first run destroyer - my go to distance, easy d,slightly understable and good for flex shots etc

168 - beat STD rush - flipper, roller and all around understable goodness when i need more anny and little fade or come back.
171 - fresh STD rush - very straight, little fade (different finish than my beat pd(
172 - cpd (non plus) - control driver..little more overstable than the other spd
175 - seasoned spd - control driver..very straight with some fade
175 - beat up spd - control driver..2 1/2 years old, my main driver-nice easy flex shots.
173 - pro candy fb - utility, flicks, big skips and spikes.

174 - opto fuse - flippy mid
175 - pearly gator - short range utility

2x - 174 proto warlocks - putting mainly,some upshots occasionally.
172 - proto glo magic - jump putts and up shots, longer runs at the basket and some drives where needed.
176 - opto pure - best driving putter evar! - my mini buzzz
??? - evo magic - less stable driving putter when its too wooded to taco my other magic.

looks solid as always bro.. i have been messing with the Buzzz again for about a month and loving it.. but since im throwing them again i figured i would give the Meteor another shot and yeah i dont remember why i ever took her out lol .. any reason you stopped throwing them? I have heard great things about the fuse just never thrown one.. but so far havent really been a fan of any of the lat stuff

I saw this update coming after the Mako v Fuse thread post...

Really surprised that the JLS is out of the bag even temporarily after all the love notes I've read that you've posted about the disc in the past.

I'm also wondering if you've tried a P-MD2 in the under stable slot. They're very straight fresh out of the box and beat into anny machines. To the point that I've dropped Meteors at least temporarily too. Now it's possible that they'll lose their stability too quickly and make it difficult to keep discs in the sweet spot. But I think they deserve a tryout if you become disenchanted with the fuse.

ian - the meteor was fine at first but over time my buzzz got beat up more and became too close to the meteor . also i only liked the meteor for long turnovers but didnt have anything for shorter distances that would hold and not need to be powered up. so thats when the fuse came into play again since its such a neutral disc. the fuse feels very similar to a buzzz in terms of the grip,i think you would like that at your power level. the meteor is nice but is like a fast maid/slow fwy driver. it has the distance potential but i have my buzzz for that spot now.

discless- yeah i wanted to like the mako, and i do,just not for the slot i was trying to fill. its just too hss for it to hold to the ground. reminds me of a slow meteor kinda. the fuse is just so neutral and easy to flip over or do annys to the ground on any distance.

as for the qj,yeah it wont get kicked out. i love it too much and its a great driver. i just get bored at times so i figured id try the td for that spot lol. even though i already know it probably wont be the same. the td probably will overlap more with my beat pd than the qj ever will. hmmm maybe i just need to throw in my beat ppd from a couple years ago. it might be the same.

damn u for making me think!

ya know,i never tried the pmd2..only the c and s . ive read that they start out very straight but one thing i hate is to have to beat a disc to that sweet spot. its fun doin it but its not fun when u need a back up. somethin tells me itll be real close to a mako in terms of stability when new. who knows,i may try it down the line. for now,the fuse shall fill that spot.

sooo i decided to take out my destroyers for a bit . i still have back probs so having the pds as my main drivers, makes it easier for me to not be so hard on my back when trying to crush a destroyer. nice control in them and can get the job done.

i also bought some ti wasps recently and have been throwing them in place of my glo buzzz. if i didnt find the bright green ti's i wouldnt have bought them.so far so good with them :)

also bought me a nice gl fuse thats 168g but still kinda stable for a fuse,i love it though . im slowly clicking with this disc again and now remember how fun it was to throw. ive had long runs at baskets and just super straight and floaty shots. i think its here to stay.

last but not least, the qj came back . i just couldnt NOT use it,its just one of those discs that i love.

172 - cpd (non plus) - control driver..little more overstable than the other spd
171 - fresh spd - breaking in
175 - seasoned spd - control driver..very straight with some fade
175 - beat up spd - control driver..2 1/2 years old, my main driver-nice easy flex shots.
175 - ce qjls - made its way back ,i couldnt do with out it.
168 - beat STD rush - flipper, roller and all around understable goodness when i need more anny and little fade or come back.
173 - pro candy fb - utility, flicks, big skips and spikes.

174 - ti wasp - beef
178 - barstamp buzzz - semi fresh ,straight with some fade at the end, more power shots than beat bs
178 - barstamp buzzz - beat up , my go to buzzz. super straight and can be flipped if needed.
168 - goldline fuse - my neutral to flippy mid.excellent line shaper.
175 - pearly gator - short range utility

2x - 174 proto warlocks - putting mainly,some upshots occasionally.
175 - proto glow magic - jump putts and up shots, longer runs at the basket
176 - opto pure - best driving putter evar! - my mini buzzz
175 - champ rhyno - windy day driver/approach putter

^^^ really like that setup... i dont have the arm so have never had a chance to throw destroyers so im sure i dont know what im missing but either way i prefer this setup  .. hows the grip on those Ti Wasps? I have a Ti buzzz and ti stalker.. neither i really throw but the grip on the stalker is great but on the buzzz .. not so much

yeah ive been kinda happy with this. i found myself using my pds more than my destroyers alot this week and i have an even better grip with them. its almost how my setup was a few years back, only disfference is i was throwing orcs instead of pds ,rr instead of the td,and rocs instead of buzzzs.

so far i like the control and easy disc selection. my destroyers werent bad but i just need to take it easier on my back.

the ti wasp is sweet,i like the grip and stability even at low weights. i actually dont mind the ti plastic but i just didnt like anything else that came in it other than the wasp. the buzzz sucked in ti and i sold mime quick.

ive also been loving the fuse, its just fun to throw and i love throwing it on lines and letting it just float.

I like your style. You have discs that do the work for you. That is how it should be in my opinion. How would you compare your Pd's to Orcs/Wraiths as far as potential distance?
