I've been using an Innova Teebird as a putter and have gotten pretty good with it. However I'm looking for a real putter to use. My brother bought an Innova Dart and it is amazing. Anyone used a dart or know of something even better?

The best putters on the Market right now are the Innova KC Pro Aviars and the Gateway Wizards.

The Dart I never could get a feel for.I could throw it off the tee much better than i could putt with it.

If you are putting with a teebird then any putter will do. Unless you are driving with it, a putter is a putter. Find something that is comfortable for you. There is nothing magical about kc aviars.

If you are using a Teebird for putting, I would consider using a Rhyno or a Zone. Those are both putters that will fly similarly to how the Teebird flies when you putt with it.

I use a magnet. They are a dime a dozen, so you can buy 3 or 4 to practice with if you want. If you just want one, but you lose it later, then they don't cost much to replace.

Get something that feels good in your hand. The first putter I bought was an R-Pro KC Aviar and I absolutely could not stand how it felt in my hand. I then went to a DX Birdie and I loved it and then I went out and bought an R-Pro Rhyno and I can hit <40' pretty well.

The problem with the question you are posing is that it's highly personal and completely subjective. Putters are largely a feel based choice as the flight characteristics of a disc are less pronounced at short distances. Whatever clicks for you will be your putter. I do agree that you may have an easier time with an overstable putter due to the whole teebird thing. The discs suggested are very overstable though. If you'd like something in between, the Discraft GT banger is very comfy in the hand and slightly overstable. On the exact opposite side of the spectrum are the understable "lids" like the Discraft Rattler and Innova Sonic. Those encourage a more "float it in" style of putting so if you like the idea of finessing your disc into the chains you might try one of those. In between, popular molds include the Innova Aviar (and all it's mutations), the Discraft Magnet, the MVP Ion and Anode, and pretty much any putter made by Gateway.

Just get one that feels good for you. I have a Dart and can't stand it, it just feels way to dome-shaped in my hands and I feel like I can't get a decent grip on it at all. My friend loves his. I have a JK Pro Aviar that I'm not too fond of in the summer because it's a bit too floppy and soft. I like the feel of my Challenger and my DX Aviar P&A. In the end they all perform about the same for me when it comes to putting, so I just go with the one that is the most comfortable.

I started out with an Aviar P&A and hated it. So I'm a little hesitant to go with too something similar. I really like the rim and feel of the dart. I'm looking at the Banger-GT, looks like the weight and rim I'm looking for.

Well thats just your opinion. IMO the Yeti pro Aviar is the best int he market for pure putting. Best plastic by far.

putter threads!!!!! same answer as always, its about feel, way too subjective to get recommendations. op if you have access to a shop go there and feel them up a little. Find one you like and get a couple. practice and you will be rewarded. drive for show putt for dough. My putting game is helping me keep up with bigger arms lately. Putting is what separates the men from the boys. There is no magical answer except to go feel some up!!!!

Oh and the pure is the best putter ever!!!! good day!

Gonna give props to my DGA Steady Ed Signature series. Gumbputt, BloFlyI(blunt mold) and BloFlyII. Been sinking putts recently, not that you'd know they all make minimal basket noise.:p

Those are great if you want to putt with a floppy rubber plate. Just ball them up and throw them in like a baseball.

I'm gonna go the opposite route from everyone and suggest you move UP in speed to find your magical putter. A nuke OS, Ape, Boss, etc. Those should all do really well.

Actually you should just type putter into the search and read everyone's opinion for that month until your eye's start to bleed. There's a lot of putter threads.

Depends on what you want to do with the putter. If just inside-the-circle putting, as many have already said, get whatever feels right to you. Go to a store with a good variety, buy what feels right to you, and practice, practice, practice. I got too many putters laying around that I bought because someone said it was great just to find out it felt weird to me.

This^^^

But make sure to fondle the Ion. Best putter on the market....:D

I'm a putter fanatic. They're all good. Find one that feels good in your hand and has consistent flight for you. Since you've been using a Teebird, an overstable putter will probably work best for you at first.

Just to throw one out there... a Rhyno is easy to find and would be OK. A Pig or a Zone if you want something that's really overstable (like your Teebird would be when putting with it).

I personally like stable putters like the KC pro Aviar, Ridge, Pure, Mercy, Voodoo, etc...

Okay, seriously. How did everyone miss the obvious here? The OP likes his friend's Dart and loves the feel of it too... So I'm thinking that MAYBE (just bear with me here), he should... Get a Dart. I know it's a revolutionary idea, but it just might work.

I'm an Ion user and am quite happy with them, but the best advice you'll get has been said on this thread several times now: Go with what feels right to you. And if the Dart feels right, then get a Dart. Or if the Teebird is working for you, keep using that and ask people out on the course if you can try their putters until you find something that feels great to you and flies great too. But in the meantime, just buy a Dart.

This message brought to you by someone who (ironically) doesn't like the Dart.

All good, except the Dart is not a very good putter. It's a good midrange, but if you can name 3 people that putt with Darts.. I'll give you an e-cookie.

I'm an Ion guy, but I suggest you go with Gateway discs just because of their package deals. The wizard would probably be best suited for you since you're more used to putting with a driver, but any of Gateway's discs are good choices. Don't pay retail, do the gateway direct deal.
