2013 Tim Selinske US Masters - PDGA Major - Burlington, NC

I'm not the course designer, so keep that in mind when reading my comments.

Hole 10 - it's a hard lefty hole, no doubt. But there isn't much else we could do with that land. It's a connecter hole.
Hole 11 - the OB right should not come in to play. This literally would one of the worst possible shots you can think of to go OB.
Hole 12 - This hole is a nightmare for everyone. The second shot sets up good for a lefty, especially if you don't make it around the corner.
Hole 13 - The tee shot is hard, for sure. But after that, the hole sets up great for a lefty, especially the third shot. And I will say that while the OB is right, the woods on the left might as well be OB because theres no chance of getting the disc much further than 300 feet.
Hole 14 - There is a back door lefty route on the hole. At almost 400 feet, it's tough for anyone.
Hole 15 - I agree on this one. It's a tough shot for a lefty.
Hole 16 - There is no OB and it's a lefty hyzer!
Hole 17 - The fact there is OB 20 feet to the right of a 260 foot straight hole should not matter in the least.
Hole 18 - the advantage of not having to throw a turnover going up that hill is huge! And then the second shot sets up great for a lefty. It's two hyzers.

so on the entire back nine, I'll give you hole 10, tee shot of 13 and 15. But that's about it. Certainly, with the exception of hyzer away from the water and hole 10, there is no true advantage.

And there is nothing in disc golf that says you can't throw sidearms!

But I understand what you are saying regarding them being neutral or right balanced. I just don't think neutral is ever a problem and the back nine, IMO, except of 3 shots, is neutral.

As a righty throwing all forehand I will agree with you. Played it yesterday morning for the first time and loved to course(couple of long walks). I threw many forehand rollers(12,13,15,16) that kept me out of trouble and got me some good look - they play well unless it rains and gets muddy. 11 gave me the most trouble - very small landing spot to get a good look. Looks like a lot of effort to get this set up.

All scores for the first round for the Advanced Master, Advanced Grandmaster, and Advanced Senior Grandmaster divisions on the Wellspring and Cedarrock courses have been uploaded.

The cards from those with tee times on the temporary Rock Creek course are slowly starting to trickle in.

Marty Adams #46188 from Chapel Hill, NC aced the 297-foot tournament seventh hole at Cedarock Park (normally played as hole#5) in the first round of today's competition. Congratulations Marty!

Patrick Brown is the MPM clubhouse leader with a sublime round of 52 on the temporary Rock Creek course. His 14-under par round included a stretch of nine birdies in a row on holes #5-13!

were they playing the shorts or longs?

cuz if he deuced 12 long that's just crazy

AND GO MARTY... TCP represent

Hole #12 is a 423' pro par four hole with an OB creek running the entire right hand side and a heavily wooded hillside on the left. The hole is only about 25-30 feet wide, at most, for its entire length, and Patrick recorded a birdie three there. While we've seen a lot of players birdie that one, there's also been a considerable number of 5s and 6s.

I wouldn't call it a par 4, that's less impressive on that hole. That's still super crazy awesome to bird all those holes in a row.

Other aces yesterday:

Darren Schatz MG1 Cedarock hole#15, 345 feet
Kevin Wiggins MM1 Wellspring hole#13, 177 feet

Congratulations fellas!

Yea Kevin, that's two TCP guys snatching the ace pot.

Wish I was going out there today to watch, pulling for Schwebby to take down the Champ and co.

Cedarock hole#15 from the short pad...long tee is about another 50 feet behind.

Ron Pannesi apparently nailed an eagle on the 560' pro par four hole#3 at Cedarock Park. That's a sweet deuce!

Brian Schweberger threw a backhand roller off the tee on the 600-foot hole#17 on the Cedarock course into the 10m putting circle, and made the putt for an eagle 2!

GO Schweb... that's a crazy two. Were they playing the pad in the pic or the one back and left?
